What could be causing it then? this is a bit odd as the first patch I uploaded should have contained everything, will have to check things more thoroughly.

EDIT: Sound files, more or less the only thing I can think of that could be missing.

download this http://md5deep.sourceforge.net/ and this
http://rapidshare.com/files/315450177/hash101.txt.html
I made this hash file from the 1.01 version.
put md5deep.exe and hash101.thx in the king arture directory
open a command prompt go to the game dir type
md5deep.exe -l -x hash101.txt -r . > newfiles.txt
May take a few minutes.
This will make a newfiles.txt containing the different files.
Haven't figured a nice way to put the files in a new directory yet. Then you can compress the files.

Hey VGA, how do you make the game work in offline mode using MiSteam? I get it to show up and everything, and the game is in the correct folder (I think at least) but it just tells me that it isn't ready for offline mode. Any help?

I have the game in:
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\King Arthur - The Role-playing Wargame (The RLD rel is unpacked straight into that folder.)
Maybe put some ncf-files in the steamapps folder, or do I need to do something more with MiSteam?

ncf files are included in JBeckham's archive, put them in steampps, so steam can see the game. Also enable the game's subscription in MiSteam. Use the trick I posted to force offline mode, so it doesn't check the files for updates.

Thanks JB !!! The patch is awesome !

EDIT: I just used the first archive and it works fine, why is it crashing for you guys ? Note that I'm not using a cracked launcher.exe because I launched from steam. Smile

So the first patch is fine then? hmm good to know as I had a feeling it should be enough as that's all the files Steam updated for me (Someone said the UI folder had a few extra icons, that's the second patch archive at 45 MB.) wonder why it causes crashes though as that's obviously not supposed to happen.

EDIT: Seems they're working on a new game by the way.

(Unsure but it looks so similar in style to Crusaders and Arthur.)

That's fine, it's basically the first update (Where I only took the files that had a modified date stamp.) but with a lot of extras as it was reported as non-working.

Afterwards I also uploaded the 100 MB file.pak file from the /UI folder incase it had been updated though it doesn't seem to be the case and lastly I also put up parts of the sound folder incase that was updated (Unit sounds as listed in the changelog.) but if it works for you then that wasn't needed either. Smile
(Bit of a mess but good to know that the second archive works as intended.)

Unsure why it would crash though unless people use a loader or similar that is a bit outdated.
(I'm not that up to date on what works and not works, Steam is updated frequently but it seems to be mostly minor UI related changes and fixes whereas Steam is still on 5.5 whereas the UI is on 1049 or something like that now, haha not that I would know that much about it however. Razz )

Note you dont have some sound and ui files now if u only use the 40mb patch.
Maybe a bit more till JBeckman makes a hash compare what i posted.

With 40MB file + UI, I still get 97.99% on king arthur - "the role-playing wargame english.ncf" (the game completion is 99.77%). Sad

Interesting and very useful, I'll have to experiment a bit with that then.

Strange that the completion is still a bit off, as I said mine says 100% for the binary files and 98.05% for the rest. (Altered installscript.vdf file, removed redistributables.) and if the above files are all that differs then it should match with the NCF file records as well.

I'll do a more complete archive soon though, will contain the 1.01 files plus what is listed above, should be a bit smaller and complete without requiring any other files.

EDIT:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/vklw3t
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F2IIJH83

EDIT: As a test (Was mentioned that it wouldn't work.) Rev. loader will boot to the loading screen but then give a "out of date - update emulator" message, is that the crash everyone is having?

Good to know T3mplar, unfortunately it won't work due to the loader being a bit outdated by now (Apparently.) so not all newer titles will work with it, VGADeadCafe mentioned MiSteam or something like that two pages back or so which seems to work, bit funny how King Arthur doesn't work but Serious Sam HD does (Haven't tried it with the new patch.) should technically be the other way around what with Sam using Steamworks, Steamcloud and similar support compared to Arthur. Smile

EDIT: I'm not too active in Steam hacking and decrypting so I don't know what the current methods are to emulate and play games without the need for them to be fully cracked, that said this update will probably get cracked as well since it's only Steam and no underlying protection like SecuROM or Tages.

Put the 2 ncfs in steamapps so steam can see the game ... like I said 2-3 times already.

RevEmu is outdated, so revloader doesn't work properly, like I said already.

MiSteam and other tools are at the Steam underground community.

You can use Validate on CFToolbox and check the logs for errors, to see which files aren't validated and why you aren't at 100%.

If you launch steam offine, you avoid the update check + servers too busy check. With the method I mentioned 2 times already.

With the 40mb update and the sound files (some extra .wav files in sounds/general to be precise) I have 100% in CFtoolbox. Using steam with that Undead memory patcher works for me.

Works for me. Thanks for the update Mr. Beckman.

@iNatan do what Skipinder said, I also installed the UI update, then go online with steam and validate the download, you will then get 100%. Exit steam and use misteam to launch stean in offline mode, play the game. Hope that helps.

Leo you nubcake, do a validate with CFToolbox and check the logs for missing/invalid files Very Happy

Otherwise it's just hit&miss.

Validating online with steam is a bad idea and useless I believe. But it can't hurt if you're on 100%

How do you launch it ? It shows in your steam because MiSteam has patched the subscriptions already. (the blob file) Regardless of whether you use it to launch Steam every time or not.

Umm not sure what helped used cf tools, misteam many.
note you need to put the game in Steam/steamapps/common/king arthur - the role-playing wargame
and the ncf-s in Steam/steamapps/
and use team in online mode so it notices the game is there, it stopped at 99% first but Then i used it offline mode and then cf toolbox and misteam not sure what order.
The unit highlighting (tab) is great in the game Very Happy

Hey, with the last rar I'm at 100% , too. Coolio.

Yes, I was at 97.99% but steam let me launch it anyway. But I was using the older ncf files. Now I put the newer ncfs and then the last rar and it's at 100% and still working great.
