Wave 4 games already can be played on 1.51
so there is a chance that the next IX will be more "durable" to the waves.
or the 360 will be more hacked then now
I won't wait forever to buy 360,so I might have to "update" the IX

You have a wrong understanding of what "wave 4" means. It is no new copy protection that needs to be cracked, MS has just changed the layout of the X360 game disc a little (I guess the will ship a new dashboard update and need more space, maybe it's part of a new piracy detectiion mechanic,...) and iXtreme thinks it is a bad rip bacause it doesn't know it yet. To prevent you from playing bad rips and getting banned it does not allow the disc to boot.
All that needs to be done is add some code to iXtreme so that it recongizes wave 4 as a valid video partition.

yep, see my post on previous page of this thread - i used the patcher to get the cars game working on 1.4, so no problems with that firmware.

Think about it. The "wave 3 patcher" was made for an iXtreme version that recognized wave 1 and 2 only. It stripped the wave 3 partition and replaced it with a wave 2 version so that iXtreme accepted the game.
Now we have an iXtreme revision that knows versions 1, 2 and 3 but not 4. If you strip the version 4 partition and replace it with version 2, guess what will happen...

Question about Wave 4 Loader for Ixtreme 1.6... can i load wave 1 games on ixtreme 1.6 with it? I got a lot of games i cant play anymore like dead rising, crackdown, etc. and i dont want to burn them again.

Ok, now i can confirm it works perfect on a dual layer. The loader detect all the old games i have (wave 1), also a few i patched before the upgrade to 1.6.

it just does exactly what the iXtreme 1.6 nfo says:
| Code: | One shot boot mode allows you to boot a Wave X or non stealth game by using the activate.iso disk as a flag. Just insert the activate disc and the next disc inserted will boot without any strict checks. This will still utilise full stealth if available. As soon as that disc is booted the flag is cleared, and you will have to re-insert the activate disk again to enable one shot boot. As always use with caution.

Alright, now here's a funny thing. Out of curiosity, I burned this activate.iso to a normal DVD-RW (not a Dual Layer) via IMGburn and guess what, it got detected in my drive and that message popped up stating "please insert Xbox 360 game disc" or something like that. Does this mean the burn was successful and that I don't have to waste a Dual layer for it?

Why would you want to waste DL disc to burn this tool? You don't even need to waste DVD. Just burn it on a cheap CD disk

What games have wave 4? The latest game I have played is Fifa10 I cant bloody remember what firmware I got, I can remember getting annoyed by patching the images so I reflashed my box a couple of months back.

I was not sure what f/w version mine was. When I put the cars o rama disk in, it just gave me a white screen with the xbox logo and XBOX 360 spelled out. I am guessing I am on 1.5 and not 1.51, because its a liteon drive and I have not patched any wave 3 games ever.
IS the activate.iso only for 1.6?

Yes. 1.51 reads everything afaik and 1.5 reads only wave 1 and 2, so you must be on 1.5

but I have never had to patch wave 3 games. So shouldnt I be on 1.51? I am also seeing on XS forums, Liteon people with 1.51 having problems running the game.
