It's not true that all multiplatform games have issues because quite simply they don't - but it's no coincidence, clearly. The PS3 is infamously more difficult to program for and in cases where the 360 is the lead platform, conversion can be problematic... but this isn't news, and one only needs to look at games like GTA4 on the PC for reference on the flipside. Bad programming is bad programming. Doesn't matter if you have the worlds best supercomputer powering it.
Either way, as far as I'm concerned this is something for fanboys on Gamespot (et al) to argue about. In an ideal world you wouldn't want that difference in quality obviously, but I played and enjoyed both Ghostbusters and GTA even with their so called inferior resolutions and poor texture clarity - and in six days time I'll be playing Uncharted 2 in all its glory. So for the gamer who's sat in front of his console playing the games in question, he doesn't care about that shite unless it affects him. Just as I'm sure you'll be playing Forza 3 and completely obvious to all the GT fanboys discussing crap like LOD levels, photomode compression and so forth. It's not important.

Ispep i had explained it like 10times here
xbox360 renders though GPU
ps3 renders though CPU and uses the GPU as a tuner to output
if a application is programed to use software CPU rendering it WILL LOOK FUCKING fantastic on PS3 but if it uses HARDWARE GPU rendering it will looks like ass

How come ALL of multiplatform games have bigger or smaller issues on the PS3? That's not a coincidence. Sony probably spends ridiculous amounts of cash to get these 2 or 3 exclusives looking and running properly on their console. |
If google speaks the truth Gears of War 1 had a budget of "only" 10 million dollars while Uncharted 1 had one of 20 million dollars. It's easy to understand why Sega and other third party developers don't want to spend such amounts of money to polish PS3 games.

I have a 360 and a ps3 and I'm gonna get the ps3 version of this game.
Why?
Because unless I'm trying hard to look for graphics issues that aren't there on the 360, chances are I won't notice anything while playing the game even if there might actually be such issues.
And more importantly, with my ps3 at least I don't have to worry if it will still work in 5 minutes or not.

I'm on my 5th (in almost 4 years) but saying that I'm on 2nd PS3 and it doesn't behave itself.
Regardless, the comparison with this game is pretty outstanding. Not on a Ghostbusters level but the PS3 really lacks any sharpness and has a significant amount of tearing and a lower FPS.
Digital Foundry Comparison
I'm not particularly a graphics whore but if something was meant to look good, and can look good, I'll opt for that version. The gameplay is the same on both therefore it may as well be pretty on the eyeballs and be smooth at the same time.

Nope that´s it. But with an übernoob-friendly mode thrown in as well.

GPU for graphics, CPU for AI, physics, other stuff. Just because PS3 has a shitload of cores doesn't mean developers will start to use them to renders graphics. That's hard, expensive, MUCH slower, so why bother.

Games like Uncharted 1 and 2, althogh I'm not sure if the graphics result from the hardware-horsepower or from the budget for optimization.

Killzone 2 is still the best looking game I've seen on any platform. I think they did an astonishing job with it. I'm no Ps3 fanboi either, it's just one of my favourite games.

sony guy, huh? How does that proves anything? Everyone knows PS3 has shitty GPU, no wonder Sony wants you to believe PS3 has a HUGE potential as a gaming platform.
Anyway, i don't want to argue about it, since you already said the graphics in those games are rendered by GPU, and i agree with you. Some preprocessing stuff - maybe, why not. CPU rendered graphics like in good old times - no. Not gonna happen

you got me wrong there, mate. i'm not trying to prove some huge potential - i was just saying that the gfx workload isn't done by the (in direct comparison indeed shitty) gpu alone, but also by the cell processor. no one said anything about software rendering like in those times before cards like the first voodoo or riva tnt came out. it's just a another type of processing graphics.
and that's why you sometimes get such abysmal gfx in multiplatform games that only utilize the GPU, but games that are coded specificially for the cell processor architecture look phenomenal.

bah bushwacka stop he will still say his lalala in his mind to be ignorat... everyone knows that the ps3 renders though CPU and uses the GPU as a tuner to output ... it was said so many times some here still don't get it
but hey in 2007-2008 he was on a crusade "Console can't calculate physics" ... the lol moment was when he was on many occasion reminded about it and showed the footage of a console game that calculate physics like Fracture or http://www.gametrailers.com/video/digital-molecular-star-wars/17054 or many others
