Yeah it might be a good idea to have one there, just to be on the safe side to avoid any unneeded "spoiling" albeit I saw it as rather minor as I kept it vague but better to be on the safe side so thanks for adding that tag. Smile

There can be some pretty tough enemies in this game though (Especially early on for low level players.), bandits, goblin "beholders" skeleton mages and more, larger groups of weaker foes can also be a problem if they swarm you, especially those goblin shamans with their magic attacks.
(Skeleton mages and certain ranged enemies can also be a problem but they're not as common, atleast this early in the game.)

EDIT: Extracted files (More people have had issues unpacking the .dv2 file.), properly named as well, just run them via the unpacker following the guides on the previous page. Smile

Renaming the files to English(US) and packing them to Dialogs.dv2 will activate lip sync.

The English(US).dialog files (Or German or whatever you might use.) are for the lip-sync data so if the characters move their mouths during conversations it worked.
(They need to be repacked.)

I'm fairly certain every language aside from German follows the same format.

English(US)
French(France)
Italian(Italy)
Spanish(Spain)

(and German)

Atleast that's the only localized content I've found so far by unpacking the menu based .dv2 files, EXE has a few other localizations that I assume is how it reads that registry key but without the actual data available they won't work.

EDIT: For those with problems using the unpacker I uploaded pre-extracted files to megaupload a few posts up on this page (At the start of it actually.), still needs to be repacked for the .dialog files to take but the sound files will work by just being in the \data\ folder.

I'm currently trying to check other xml files and scripts but I can't find much to alter that isn't controlled in the EXE or rather hard-coded into it someway or another, only found minor stuff such as starting attributes and certain scripts but I haven't checked all that many files yet.
(Mostly the ones in the \data\ directory and a few sub directories.)

Was trying to do a easy test by increasing weight units from the max 180 items to 250 items but it seems it won't be that easy to mod the game.

Thx you very much. Anyway, I can't repack the .dv2 file because the dv2_pak.exe don't work, the file don't be created. I try with cmd too but same thing. With the unpaker that don't work too for me, I solve with "Open with..." select dv2_u.exe from the list and press ok. After, with a double click on Dialogs.dv2 it works. Anyway, if I play without this files, can I have problems?

Previous page but I'll list the important info again.

What I used to repack the archive (Clarified by another user, had some trouble before that -a parameter was shown.) was to first place the unpacker on C:\ and use the comand "C:\dv2_pak.exe -a Z\ Dialogs.dv2" after placing the two folders in the "Z" folder under C:\ (So C:\Z\ and in that folder Sound and Win32)

Sorta messy explanation but this should hopefully pack everything together.

The sound files (.bnk or sound bank) will work unpacked but the .dialog files will not, you can play anyway albeit without lip-sync animations. Smile

Do you mean that items and such "slide" (Animations in general actually.) because that's a known issue, first I thought it was PhysX related but even NVIDIA users complain about this issue, a patch will be released (No date though.) that will fix this, correct other bugs and add more options amongst the larger currently known changes. Smile

yep, I'm doing the same things, http://i25.tinypic.com/2h4l24w.jpg but don't generate any file when finish the process. Anyway, if it's only the lip-sync animations, it's not a problem for me, thx you again.

1. Get the unpacker http://www.sendspace.com/file/cu6bqm
2. Copy the unpacker to the gamedir\data\win32\packed and drag Dialogs.dv2 to it.
3. After it has unpacked "Sounds" and "Win32" folders,go to sounds\soundbanks\Win32 and rename German to English(US).
4. Get this http://www.123renamer.com/download.htm so that you don't have to rename everything by hand. Start the program and go to Win32\Characters\Dialogs and just replace everything that has German to English(US).
5. Then use the packer http://www.sendspace.com/file/x8uyez
6. Take the newly modified "Sounds" and "Win32" that you unpacked to C:\ (I did it this way) and create a new folder for them...for example c:\new and add them to that folder.
7. Then copy the packer to c:\ and start the command prompt(cmd) and add the line like this "dv2_pak.exe -a New\ Dialogs.dv2"
8. After that's done,copy the new Dialogs.Dv2 to gamedir\data\win32\packed replacing the original.
9. Start regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\[KEYHERE](for me it was Wow6432NODE)\Larian Studios\Divinity2 and change "Language" to English(US)
10. Done. Very Happy

Hope I got everything correct. Smile

Edit. Sauronich got me to it...well it took a while to write. Sad

Worked a treat thanks...

Just no lip syncing Laughing

No english sounds until english release

The game has serious fps problems, but very playable, things will get fixed with patches.
