Well that woukd actually be a good idea... don't know if new moves' animations would be possible though.
But for me, i think it's hard enough to master a single character... imagine all of them and even eventual modded ones...
I'm getting awfully sick of some of the online community for this game. I am always polite to them and wish them luck and even congratulate them when they beat me. I don't excessively spam moves or do anything frowned upon.
Yet I am increasingly getting bad reviews from players on my games for windows live profile. So I am assuming that its the players that I beat that are doing this. This looks bad upon me and I have no methods of refuting whatever they claimed that I did to warrant such. I play GTAIV online as well and have never had a single player do this to me... I simply cannot believe that SFIV players are averagely more immature and sore losers than GTAIV players.
Then there are many players who disconnect right before it declares a winner. Why on earth did Capcom enable this ability? Why not just give the person still connected the win? Even if the quitter was the host of the battle (which is a bad idea as well) the gamer still connected to Windows Live when the host is suddenly not before the fight is over is the clear winner. How hard is it to think of that?

Honestly, that's why I just invite my friends over to play. Playing in person is so much better. Not to mention the fact that I suck at the game in comparison to the people online... but against my friends I have a chance.
Some street fighter 3 third strike on mame, some sf4, some guitar hero and a movie make for a sweet night in with friends

Most of the Online Players suck too. There are so many button mashing ,special spamming scrubs online, its unbelievable.

I always get owned by button mashing Ken's when I mess up an akuma combo, they just uppercut me whenever I didn't connect the hits too well, that's obviously button mashing

i bought an XBOX360 Madcatz SF4 Fightpad yesterday. Works fine with my PC (vista only?) and is waaaaaay better than this shitty XBOX Gamepads... i hate analog sticks and the d-pad on the x360 sucks.
do you guys think using akuma online is a big disadvantage? I always have a hard time connecting the kicks and punches cause of lag, and i do them fine offline
Akuma is strong but has a very low life, so unless you know how to play him very well, you should stay away (unless you know the opponent isn't very good).
To be good with Akuma you need to play him as cheep as possible. Stay in the corner and spam normal fireballs, then mix in some red fireballs and air ones, then teleport away if they get close.

Stats modding should definetly be left to capcom.
It's not like they don't know how to well balance a street fighter game lol....
maybe they were drunk while they made sagat for sf4....
i wouldnt call that balanced.
I don't agree with that list. Gouken is cheating. Maybe if you view things from stats only he is 'B' class - But his combo's are above and beyond anyone elses in the game. He also has way more of an ability to juggle even though they took juggling out for most characters. Sagat is not S class. His combo's are just not that good. They are all easy to defeat, besides tiger knee. He also is a huge target. Anyone that is a decent sagat player also knows how weak he can be when a character like Abel gets close.
I believe the list is correct when looking at the stats alone. Of course the players skill matters more than anything. Someone who knows how to play a character well and knows what the opponents characters moves are is generally going to win over someone less skilled.
Through my personal experience Abel makes Zangief obsolete. Sure he may not be as powerful but hes faster and his grapple attacks seem to connect faster as well. Then he has that special move where he kicks and goes across the screen even if the kick is blocked its easy to throw the opponent afterward. Plus he can even throw people doing a aerial attack against him with ease and I've noticed even executing this throw late still often results in the throw being successful despite when its clear he should have been hit. I'm not even really good with Abel and yet I win most fights online and offline with him.
They roughly show which character had advantage over which. I think they are based on results from tournaments, but they are always a bit mixed up because some characters in certain regions just aren't played much. For example in europe you see some very good Blankas, Abels and even Vegas, while Ken just isn't played much.
That list is bullshit. Dan an F? In this game? He's more a C or even a B.
Also Zangief should be on top. The dude is just fucking cheap. I mean maybe if I were more skilled, I wouldn't get butt raped all the time, but still.
I mean the guy isn't a grab character. People don't need to grab with him. They can just do his other moves which are pretty safe and then punish with grabs. It's not about catching opponents, it's about forcing them to make mistakes and then catch them.
Good Blanka players eat Zangief with ease. Thats the problem with him, hes insane against most characters, but against couple of them hes underdog. I also find Rose decent against him. Her forward - high kick beats his Lariath.
Honestly the people complaining about balance, you don't know shit about it. That chart for the most part is bullshit and just stats, the Japanese tournament tier list is very very accurate. Since Evo just ended though a lot of characters are bound to move about the list (Cammy making it 4th) The problem is a lot of people in thread are NOT educated in this games mechanics.
Let me explain something very quickly. Previous Capcom games with HUGE balance issues resulted in 2-3 top tier characters being played in tournaments because players acknowledge they were superior, pick anyone else and you are at a disadvantage.
SFIV has no "F" or "D" (Bottom Tier) grade characters, the difference in balance between the best and worst is minuscule compared to 3rd strike (Chun, Ken, Yun were the only 3 characters used) For that reason EVERY character is viable in competitive play, some have slight advantages that put them higher (Sagat: ->Tiger Uppercut->Focus Cancel->Forward F.K->Ultra) but like any game you play smart to avoid the characters obvious damage dealer.
Secondly, anyone who complains about getting owned by a specific character doesn't know how to play, period.
EDIT: I just looked at that chart again, please disregard it because it is COMPLETELY bullshit. Who ever posted it has pissed me off.
this game makes me want to give up. i only played third strike for a month and started playing this since it came out for pc. there's way too much to learn. all the zoning/offensive/defensive techniques plus quick mother fucking fingering to do combos on a keyboard. I feel like if I don't spend hours every day playing it then I won't get any better. guess it's too late for me to start playing sf =[
Or you could get a pad or a stick and play it more easily? I can't do shit on the keyboard, but do OK on the pad...
yea i was thinking of getting a stick, if it's not too expensive. What are some cheap, unofficial sticks out there? Brands don't matter as long as it works.
