Why wait for someone to try and take advantage of this issue maybe? And by the way who said it aint broken? The fact that it looks good doesn't really mean too much.

also when you have hacks installed, it can become a pain inthe arse to be upgrading once a month.

and if you dont install the hacks people moan "wheres quick reply" "w hy cant I do this" blah blah

An upgrade would be nice, maybe it would remove all the small bugs in the forum.

If your referring to the topic "bugs", it has nothing todo with the code. As you might recall we had major database problems a while back. Its a mircle the database even survived.

I get it, but why does it occur even with new topics? Shouldn't the problem only happen with topics created prior to the database-error?

I understand that it's impossible to fix issues that are out of your hand, and if the case with slow forum-performance (ie. click three times from time to time) is dependant on this database-glitch it's an unfortunate, but highly acceptable impracticality.

That i must say is quite a mistake. I for example installed a forum to my friend and put there about 30 mods and it's working excellent. I upgraded it to the newest one and there was no change. So my point is that there're only few mods that will cause problems because of upgrades. Nforce's forum doesn't have such mods and i doubt if will ever have because it useless here.
The upgrades aren't meant to destroy, only to help.

Yes, you use pre-built mods where you just pick-up a new version of it and thats it. Every hack you see here is our own. No crappy 3rd party stuff. I dont really see a problem here, i mean, are we suppose to go and redo the whole forum from scratch again just because the version number at the bottom reads 2.0.8? We know in what shape the forum is in. If you really want to keep this forum safe, report any major exploits to us so we can deal with them accordingly (if we havent already Wink)

I wasn't talking about THE number. I was talking about security fixes that were made in newer versions. I guess PHPBB didn't release newer version just because they wanted to raise the number, am i right?

What [mrt] is trying to say is that the security fixes have already been added to our forum manually.
