The "Live" disabler has been updated to work with Fallout version 1.1, can still just rename the catalogue file instead of using it to stop Live from loading but this probably disables it entirely.

Achievement list for "Operation Anchorage", somewhat interesting for PC users as well since the game uses "Windows LIVE".
(All of them are tied to primary quests from the looks of it.)

I wonder if this can be played "legit" without actually buying it, which is a fucking hassle (cards, points, marketplaces). I mean, would the new achievements still be present and register, and so on. Because i've heard it normally checks to see if your Live ID has bought it, or something like that.

Sorry for misunderstanding, that happens via the latest LIVE client and Fallout 3 patch.
New LIVE functions in Fallout 3 1.1 explained a bit here.
http://timeslip.chorrol.com/
Marketplace uses your LIVE account (Black bar on mine in the screen above to prevent issues.) and the stuff you own via it.
When signed on with the latest patch and LIVE client this info can be used by the game and thus it adds one new achievement for the player to unlock and add to their gamerscore upon completing the DLC missions.
Is that better? I'm not that good at explaining but hopefully this makes some sense.
EDIT: Using the content on a LIVE account that doesn't own it should also be possible by taking all the stuff in the folder above (Aside from the BSA and ESM files there's some general files.) and placing it in a similar location, thus fooling the LIVE client and the game into thinking you own the content.
(Fallout 3 also tracks your DLC's via a DLCList.txt file but I don't know if it's actually used.)
EDIT: Misc stuff from the BSA files.
Creatures
Spoiler: |
Spidermine
Chimera tank
|
Armor
Spoiler: |
Generals outfit (Looks pretty much like that Enclave generals outfit but with extras.)
Chinese Stealth Armor (That black suit seen in one screen.)
Army jumpsuit (Kinda like the other jumpsuits but a green army color.)
Chinese general hat and snow helmets (Work with the existing chinese outfit.)
Snow combat armor
Clean power armor
|
Weapons
Spoiler: |
Energy sword (Similar to the officer sword and probably the same item but non-broken)
Trench knife (Combat knife with knuckle guard and spikes)
Clean shiny 10mm and chinese pistols
Clean shiny assault and chinese rifles
Gauss Rifle with it's own particle effect/bullet and special scope
(But there's only one so you'll have problems repairing it from what I've read.)
|
EDIT: Based on the texture data and GECK Nif preview texture modding is needed for the third person weapons to look "good"
(Similar to original Fallout 3 third person weapons and certain ammunitions use a very low-res texture, easy to fix and looks much better once fixed.)
EDIT: DLC chinese pistol comparison based on the above.
Third person texture (Worldmodel and such as well.)
1st person texture (When equipped and in first person perspective.)
EDIT: Done, copy to the "\Data\Textures\dlcanch\weapons" folder.

It took me 30 seconds to refit the repair rethought mod to enable the gauss to be repaired with laser rifles. It's certainly not that big an issue.

Since I use the same GamerTag/account for both XBL and G4WL I was going to buy the G4WL DLC and see if that also applied to the 360 version, though I doubt it would) -- but I overspent on the Marketplace this week and completely tapped myself out |
No Idea, I didn't get the rip. I ripped my bought version so I could use it with geck and mods.

Ah well, I'll try the rip and if it doesn't work with Achievements (I honestly don't see how it could do, to be honest. It's just an ESM/BSA setup and if that alone could give achievements, there would be a million "100P Achievement" mods) then I'll just buy it.
Thanks anyway, Epsilon.

Final comment of the review
Quote: |
I love Fallout 3. I love it to an almost indecent extent. It was far and away my game of 2008, and doesn't look like being knocked out of my personal top spot for a good while yet. But when you sift out its role-play, the ammo-box inspection and the exploration and draft in a fleet of health and ammo regeneration points to compensate... well, affairs just feel shallow and somewhat naked. Hopefully a lesson has been learnt at Bethesda towers. Business as usual next time please. |

Yeah, i just needed to get to the Anchorage Memorial=_=
I thought i would get the distress signal anywhere in the world upon loading. Everything works fine.
And even that's wrong-i just got to go around a little-got the signal while walking from megaton to vault 101 path.
