Even if it was 1 cent, i still wouldn't pay it, the game was fun, but not worth ANY amount of money to me.
As F2P yes, because i would play it as casual, and casual games shouldn't be paid for IMO.

Recruit, Hunter and VBI Ultimate packs, unsure if they mean anything but it seems most F2P play games get these "DLC" convenience packs or what to call them.
Hehe, had to check if I went all the way with ark codes in Beta. Was afraid I had to put in again 60 new codes or so, but nope still lvl 15 being the max
Finished - canceled like in - they canceled it but guys wraped up some plots in last episode.

Apparently it's the same game with some new content.

They ported over to a x64 bit engine, integrated all the expansion packs into the base game, switched up the skill trees to a "class system" (you can max out each class so you only need 1 character), made loot progression work like Destiny 2, and LITERALLY Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V'ed 100% of the actual content.
In short, shameless cash grab.

(I liked original defiance for quite a while actually - However this simply feels like it's the same thing with very minor changes - I tried in a beta a month or two ago)
Not really the point. He said it was a cash grab...
How?
ah yea... free game being cash grap ..
Sure they sell stuff there, but so did the original.
I think it's more like a... final? attempt to keep the game afloat. It's a new release -> people will find (appears as a 'new' game in articles etc.) it, also people who haven't tried the original (maybe because it was already old game and they didn't 'want' to play old games), and if enough stay -> game stays up.

The pack that allowed you to play 4 days early was $20. This pack unlocks 4 of the 5 skill-tree classes. If you want the 5th class, you pay ANOTHER $20 - otherwise you have to wait 3 WEEKS.
The way the class experience system works - by the time you hit level 20 or so in your EGO level, you will have maxed out whatever class you started as. By that time, you'll have enough "special currency" (forget what it was called) to unlock one new class. You switch to it and level that one now. However, by the time you finish THAT one you won't have enough to unlock the next. So all your XP that you're gaining, while going towards your EGO level (which is basically pointless), will NOT be applied to any class.
So yea, unless you paid $20 you'll be earning XP but it won't be getting applied to your classes after a certain point, and pretty much be going to waste.
While it's technically "free", as anyone who has played free-to-play titles knows, it's not really "free" if you plan on playing any extended amount of time, as they've built in wallet walls.

yea, it's very clunky... Played to level... 4 or so. ~6-7 missions in total + one of those events.
The enemies are horrible bullet sponges. I spend like 1 clip / 1 regular monster. (I've gotten 'green' weapons as random drops from the monsters I'm kililng , thus it should not be that I'm just using too low level gear).
I don't recall the original being THIS bullet spongy in the beginning (It was horrible in the end, but I recall in the beginning things died quite nicely)
There are terrain and quest bugs...
-> I jumped on a car wreck on a road -> you cannot 'walk' on the car for some reason, I got stuck in permanent jump animation and was stuck there until someone blew up a grenade or something near me to knock me off the car.
The first main quest (you have to kill 75 monsters), you're supposed to get a temporary super weapon from a container -> I used the container, but the weapon didn't spawn -> I had to kill 75 monsters with a sucky assault rifle / pistol took a while.

Yeah, but "luckily" they almost entirely ignore you and you can basically just run and gun through those mutant soldiers lol.
That's actually what made me call it quits ^^. No AI, simple script that makes them "pretend fight" with the female protagonist while you run through them and killing everyone.
Played for 2 or so hours and I didn't find anything new. It also doesn't play well and looks bad. Poorly aged and for something that is getting a re-release, this is terrible.

8 years in Defiance and another 3 years in Defiance 2050, full of peaks and valleys. Today, with a heavy heart, we are sad to announce that Defiance and Defiance 2050 will officially cease all operations on April 29, 2021.
We concluded both games could no longer sustain themselves. This decision has been a difficult one to make.
While we are discontinuing the game’s service, the journey we’ve taken together has been a valuable learning and unforgettable experience, one we will remember for a long time.
As of today, all cash purchases will be disabled. Bits already purchased before February 24, 2021 will still be usable until the end of service.
