A cautionary tale of selling out for acceptance of the woke minority. It's like a slow motion car crash.

This should be scrapped, IP sold to a better renowned studio and given a proper budget with good script writers and developers. Releasing an utter disappointing Bloodlines 2 would kill off that particular IP forever, at least in that form. I guess they could do a VtM: Bloodlines - Hybrids mobile game or something (eeew).

I assume that buying a chunk of Hardsuit means Paradox is committed to seeing BL2 through. But they currently only own a third of it, which is not a controlling interest. They do have the option to increase their stake though, so you have to wonder if they are at some point going to bite the bullet and increase their stake to 51%, then put a broom through the current management. You can keep firing the minions but at some point you have to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 Delayed Past 2021, Developers Removed From Project, Preorders Halted
Quote: | In a statement made as part of Paradox’s latest earnings, the publisher says:
We have now chosen to postpone the release of [Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2] further, and we will not be launching the game in 2021. We have also decided that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2, and we have started a collaboration with a new studio partner to finish work on the game. This has been a difficult decision, but we are convinced that it is the right way forward to do the game justice. |

Your new avatar fits the situation with this pretty well.
Also yeah, why did they hire Hardsuit in the first place. They had zero experience with this sort of game.

I don't know much, but i hope Hardsuit labs were the ones causing trouble in the game. Getting people fired, woking it up etc

I think this is for the best. A bit late though, Paradox should have done this when Mitsoda was fired.

They had Mitsoda on board back then and he pitched it to them they probably thought he could handle a rookie team. They even invested in them i think they own about 50% now which makes this even more of a failure for them. |
If this is being rebooted, they'd better bring Mitsoda back after the fuckery and backstabbing with Hardsuit.
Or at least, use the narrative he'd already written.

Let me guess. THis rookie team of purple and green haired wo(man)'s had a vision for the game, Mitsoda wouldn't play ball and they got him fired

One of the rumours floating around was he defended Chris Avellone's work and tried to prevent it being removed.
No evidence for that though. Guess we'll get more info when/if NDAs expire and Mitsoda is willing to talk more.

It's not like it was shaping into something great, looked generic as fuck.

Because in charge of many companies nowadays there are often managers / PR representatives / negotiators very well trained in the art of 'persuasion', that get their way and turn profit not on the quality of their services, but their massive skill in bullshitting.

Yes. I get the feeling Paradox sometimes are somewhat naive, a rather typical swedish trait i would argue /in before patriot Frant comes in to defend us against my lies! |
I'm not sure whether Paradox ended up buying a stake in Hardsuit before or after their BL2 pitch, but either way, I suspect they were the cheapest option.
I bet Paradox is regretting any short term cost saving right about now though.
