While I do like the game, it has no imagination whatsoever. Everything about it seems so extremely familiar. The story for example is full of cliches, one after another.
This is a weird one for me. I am really enjoying it and it's big fun, but it also feels like a repetition of a dozen older games.
Haven't played but the videos always looks so nice, the graphics for the world itself is really well made.
It's too bad it seems so stupid and generic. Were the dwarves the blue ones here? with giants + some big orch like creatures, and then it looked like some actual dwarfs. It's original i guess, but rather stupid, why even call them them dwarves if most of them are giants
I'm at the part where you have to defend your home base, after the Eye. Is it by chance that I got the three companions I never used before? Or is it design? The problem is that these companions have basic gear and I don't like two of them. Was I supposed to save up gear for these fuckers? I don't mind lowering difficulty in SP games if it gets frustrating, but it's bad if I have to it because the game forces me to use gimped characters
Any way to change my companions at this point? I at least need my tank Isgrimm ffs.
How's the expansion ? Besides being cheap. Just bought it. Not sure why. Cheap. My interest needs a boost before that double click )
K fine I did it by myself. First spellforce was so damn awesome at the time. Them combining erpegee with rts. This one feels generic as hell. As if, nothing new.
It's getting great reviews from the people who played the beta. It's basically an improved version of Spellforce 3. Since I realy liked the game and it's just 15 bucks if you own Spellforce 3, it's a must buy for me.
I liked the male VA...could have shown little more emotion from time to time though.
And yes you will get more companions as you do more missions, 5 companions in total and then your very own mercenaries that you can hire on top of that.
The mercenaries you get in the beginning were actually pretty good, imo.
Yeah they are good for combat, but useless as RPG companions. The new companion I got is the druid, useless for my party so I won't use him
Very good game, this should be more popular.
The RPG/RTS balance seems to lean a lot more on the RPG side in this one. I like.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Exactly what I wanted to know too, such a shame its not both games in one, thanks. Lets hope this does not suffer with that odd glitch when loading, I forget exactly what caused it, but the screen was completely unresponsive and the only way out was a hard reset, I know it went on for a while before they finally sorted it out.
I started the game, i used lever to open the gate, i repaired lever for opening gate, killed two bugs, all that in 3 minutes, and ending in that 3 minutes was great, shift+delete.
Looks too much "more of the same". Any big changes worth mentioning?
The major changes in the UI and ability mechanics was implemented in the last xpac, Soul Forge. Now it is mostly UI tweeks and a few refinements from Soul Forge to Fallen Gods. It is akin to the Xpacs of old, where you get a new campaign and some fresh abilities for your characters.
As for the new stuff:
The troll race has new mechanics. The primary one is that you upgrade a base type troop into higher level troops by sending them to 1 of the 3 training camps (melee, ranged, magic). So, Tier 1 trains into Tier 2 that can train into Tier 3 that can train into tier 4. The higher tier troops and Tier 2 casters can eat corpses to gain power.
You are locked into a 4 troll party. Three of the trolls have 1 new skill tree that you cant change and 1 skill tree you get to choose out of the old trees with a new (mostly) combined skill for each. The 4th Troll is unique and has his own new skill trees, one is traditional, and one unlocks as you make dialog choices in game.
Item "crafting" is kinda new. Trolls cant use small weak human type things, so they have to scrap them for parts and make new troll things.
The game will release on consoles and will receive some sort of Enhanced-like update (free) called Reforced:
Quote:
Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Grimlore Games have announced real-time strategy and RPG hybrid SpellForce III Reforced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will launch on December 7.
Users who already own the PC version of SpellForce III will receive a free upgrade to SpellForce III Reforced day and date with its release.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
