It runs smooth. 100 fps in campaign map and 60+ in battles. Tho like I said, it's very zoomed out, so there is very little visible animation going on ^^. You can hardly make out the units, if they aren't highlighted ^^.

It's like amateurs made this, worst total war yet, even three king. had better combat.
If you can skip the combat then it's playable but not for long.
I played a few quick battles, and indeed the unit graphics are very lame. There are like two three face textures that repeat, so you see all the cousins in the same unit. Animations don't fit the moving speed, so it seems like they are running really fast but actually moving slow.
It shows that this is some shitty studio's job, especially after China.
After Thrones of Britannia bombed, they must have thought all their Christmases had come at once when Epic turned up offering a sack of cash for exclusivity and a free giveaway. It's really a win-win scenario for Sega. They get a bunch of money without having to worry about the fanbase rejecting them (again) and they get 12 months of free beta testing before they try to sell it to the majority of their audience on Steam.

It was. It was one of their satellite studios, as mentioned earlier in the thread, not the main UK studio (which is busy working on Warhammer III and some console action game).
Things don't make sense here, how can a farming city have the same garrison (almost the same) as a citadel tier 4? Did these guys ever play Rome2 or Warhammer? Rome will have a bigger garrison protecting it than a village in Nabo.
You have resources but can generate more just by completing a research kinda cancels each other, what's the point. I have enough food for an entire continent.
I assume every unit is like cavalry now because of this 'flanking new feature' so now the whole game becomes a flanking competition, who will outflank who faster (or a butt-fucking competition). Try and out-flank the flankers then out-out-flank the out-flankers and so on.
Yeah you can tell a different studio made this proly their first game. Maybe they should have borrowed Rome 2 code and just modify it, this game would have been great then.

The combat is so bad, you can't fix this.
Units having no real mass to them has been an issue ever since the new engine switch with Empire.
I really miss the battles in Rome and Medieval 2 where units actually had some momentum to them.
if u look at what we were playing almost 15 years ago now thanks to modders ... ud think these devs have become senile and went total overboard with their retarded motion cap studio bullshit which adds NOTHING to the game, the only thing they evolved was their marketing and dlc milking

It worked fine in TWW... Sure, they over did it with the charge impact, but it's Warhammer and it has huge monsters etc. so it's ok. But in Troy, it's like they tuned it back to -100...
I always try to like tw games but just, can't.
The whole UI is so clumsy for no reason. The map is a mess.
Empire management is nothing more then picking perks and there are so much perks i just lose interest. And why would you care about the numbers, exploiting ai is enough to win.
Battles take forever and are hardly a chalange. But don't you dare to auto resolve when you're 2-1 in numbers cause the ai will kill half of your army.
Diplomatic AI: we want goods from you for free. Response, no thanks, i want your goods for free. AI: fine, take it.

I like the more diverse resources, but it's implemented horribly. Each Province has 1 to 3 minor settlements, which are randomly given a "type". I.e. farming, mining, etc., so it's "whack-a-mole" style capturing of those settlements. Need food, capture farming village, etc.
Achilles is bugged. Of course he is, it's CA and they don't test their shit and fuck over their modders (RIP Darthmod)...
Achilles has a game mechanic, that makes him change his mood and depending on that, you get different bonus and malus'.
Except, it's broken and you only get the "fuck off everyone, I Parteeehhhh" mood. Which is great for your resources, +30%, but horrible for diplomatic... -50 on all...
remember in 3K, imagine if you had a -50 to overcome in your trades and deals. Not your reputation etc, no, you start with a -50 on the "deal or no deal-o-meter", in short, impossible.
So basically once that bug hits, and it hits early, you can't make ANY deals anymore with anyone. No NAP's, no peace, no barter, no confederation... basically, you're fucked.
Well, I guess my whole campaign became a whack-a-mole because of that. Everybody declares war on me and I am just hunting army after army and capturing and recapturing settlement after settlement, lol...

And combat is so fucking abysmal... a lot of times, you don't understand, why unit a beat unit b, even tho it shouldn't... it's all over the place... lol...
