You posted the disinfo article that for the millionth time connects Pepe memes and Trump supporters to the "alt-right" (which now means white supremacy basically and noone serious is using to describe their ideology) and then says that the Hong Kong protesters are not using it as an alt-right symbol.
As a Pepe veteran I say: The term alt-right was used loosely by people to distance themselves from the Republican establishment. Later it came out that it was coined by a white supremacist/separatist and the MSM went wild with it. So everyone stopped using it and there is now no way to describe them other than Trump supporters.

Alt-right in it's essence is white nationalism (a la Richard Spencer). It's (as described on wiki) an ill-defined group of far-right people from various sub-groups.
It's not a single group since the alt-right encompasses among other things (but not by all the sub-groups):
anti-semitism
white nationalism
separatism
anti-political correctness
anti-establishment
anti-neoconservatism
anti-interventionism
anti-feminism
anti-lgbtq
VGA, you definitely check several of those boxes and could belong to a few of the subgroups (not the nao-nazi-based groups according to your claimed).
