10000 keys for the alpha technical test were sent yesterday, for NA mostly. Today at 14:00 CEST the NDA for the rest of the coverage (videos and streaming) goes down. The presskits have been sent. Also there will be a roadmap soon (today?). Watched the stream from Poznan Game Arena show last weekend and the game looks promising.

I quite enjoyed it. It's still rough around the edges, but it's in a better state than BF4 was at launch. Pretty impressive coming from a "small" company like this.
Reminds me a lot of Homefront's MP.
Love that fact that there is friendly fire, so you can forget the nade spamming that is BF.
Other than that, read what Nodrim wrote on last page, summarizes it pretty good.

Fixed it for you. |
The thing is though, Early Access in itself means absolutely nothing anymore (if it ever did).
The majority of devs have abused it to use as a milking cow and magical "cure-all" for any bugs that may exist (even if they've been there for two years without getting fixed!)
A few devs use it properly to polish and put the finishing touches on a game, as it should be (a beta of sorts lasting no more than a few weeks or months).
Most devs release a barely functioning "technical-alpha" of a game that just started development and hold out their hands for money, with the product sitting in there for years to come. And once they've got your money they have no incentive to actually deliver what was promised.
Going by monkey's impressions above though, hopefully this one turns out semi-decent. Still not a fan of the model though. Product first, then money.

The more I play, the more I discover neat little details that make the experience better. I'm hoping they'll do something about the texture work at some point as some of the textures are quite washed out. But the game seems better with each big patch and now that I got the chance to do it, I can say that it plays quite nicely in squad.

I think it's because beta testers had the game listed as purchased in Steam even though it wasn't.
Happened to me but just now it was revoked and says I can purchase it.

Clusterfuck of a launch.
Got to play one game before being kicked out of the login server for several hours now - some things of note.
-Even after disabling the shitty bloom, blur, and depth of field there seems to be some sort of permanent noise filter that makes shit look grainy/gritty and the overall image very dirty.
-The interface kind of sucks. It can't decide whether it wants to be minimalist or over the top. Apart from the compass, it doesn't really convey information very well.
-Firefights have been a mixed bag. Either I go down instantly, or I soak bullets like nobody's business. Same goes for the enemy. It's weird.
-On 1080p at Ultra preset, the map I played on would constantly dip from 60s into 30s. Performance was awful. Tried toning it down from ultra to high, not much difference. Horrible performance with rig in sig.
-And I don't think this needs mentioning, but it plays NOTHING like the trailer above.
Overall, not very positive impressions. Released about 6 months to a year too early it seems. Probably going to refund it, the devs haven't done much to inspire confidence.

I don't have the courage to launch myself into various testing trips at the moment but I've been keeping an eye on this one, guess I'll just wait and see how it develops (if it develops ). It definitely looks like a genuine Battlefield 3/4 Ja Pierdole Edition though which is not a bad thing.
Edit: added the Early Access tag, let's hope it's not a permanent one

After two full days of the game being unplayable in NA due to the login servers being shit, I ended up refunding it. Even if they manage to fix it, the damage has been done. Trustworthiness reduced to zero. All the dev. has done up to this point is issue a message pleading with people to hang in there and apologizing for the awful cluster-fuck they released.
This is all rather unfortunate. Probably one or two main idiots responsible for this catastrophic mismanagement, and in 48 hours they've ruined what could have been an awesome shooter. Doubt the player base will recover after a showing like this - it'll most likely sink into obscurity and be dead or near it within a month.

And I'm still buffled with how devs don't realize that, not just them, but industry in general. There were alpha/beta and stress tests, there were problems and yet, they went on and released the game.
Game most probably won't recover from that and that's good because early access developers need to realize that mvp should be a playable game. There can be a lack of content, missing textures, not fully optimized game, but it needs to be playable and over and over again they fail to deliver that.

I played during these alpha/beta stress test, and there were no issues at all regarding connection. But then again, maybe there weren't enough players stress testing the servers.

That's exactly why you opt for nothing less than an open beta when you have a game that requires a connection to any sort of login or master server. Instead of giving the game to a few dozen high profile twitch tards, you open the floodgate and get a realistic representation of what's going to happen on launch.
I guess these guys were scared (with good reason) that people would see the state the game was in (content and performance wise) and it'd cost them their precious early access sales. Well, now it has cost them that, plus any good will or trustworthiness they may have accumulated it, and basically destroyed the player-base before the game is out the door.
They wanted to tangle with the city slickers - professional trailers, jumping the gun by ganking Battlefield's original release date when it was pushed back, billing themselves as a Battlefield 4 replacement. In reality however, these guys are more akin to country peasants milking their cows and lazing their way down to church on a Sunday morning when the bell tolls. Trial by fire burned away their masks it seems.
