I never knew online games had mods. So if player x has a mod and player y doesn't have it, how does the server handle it?
Sorry for off-topic.

Ark for example has a great mod support.

They can do pretty much anything with it. (ie. modders have created a cross server auction house)

If it supports similar level stuff in Fallout, it's not that bad.

You get an error when trying to join the server usually.

There's many games with mod support. No problem, just before connect make sure all players have the same mods.

PC: Yes. Console: No.

Online mods were pretty standard when I was playing FPS's back in the old days.
That's not a thing any more with modern ones right?

The kind of Mods they'll provide won't be even close to the stuff we have on the Nexus.

FYI you can preorder the game on Amazon, which wont take any funds from you until the game is ready to ship, so this way you should be able to get a beta code. Then cancel order when code arrives.

So, just like with every other preorder game that gave you some beta code pre-release. Very Happy

Gonna preorder it too. I just hope i don't forget to cancel it in time.

Regarding others messing with you:

Quote:
Well, we are still tweaking how it works but as I said in an interview PvP is kinda like issuing a challenge to someone. If you don’t want to deal w them they can’t keep killing you over and over. Todd is better suited to explain the specifics

Regarding Nukes:

Quote:
Todd states that nukes function is to create high-level areas. You need power armour to enter. These will function as high-level raids with high-level enemies and likely high-level loot.

Other details from Noclip documentary:

- Fallout 76 is the multiplayer design from Fallout 4. The idea was too big so they put it on the side, then ZeniMax opened a new studio Battlecry Studios, MMO experts.
- Battlecry trying to implement the Quake netcode to Fallout Engine.
- The world was based on THE [one] player so they had to modify the engine. Codename Atlas because he held up the world. The world [was only rendered around THE player]. They decouple Atlas so there could be multiple people.

- We decided to do all of West Virginia. [Shrinked/Shoved the map around].
- No one was gonna nuke West Virginia so we're able to do trees and interesting visual look.
- West Virginian myths, isolated villages trapped in wilderness, terrifying monsters.
- Far more creatures, varied types of enlarged insects. 2 headed possums to giant sloths and event intelligent plants.
- The moth man - stages, early on he stalks you, creepy eyes in the dark.
- Time closer to bomb detonation so more radiation so crazier mutants and giant plants because it's more radiated at the time. Such bad mutation that it died out [in basically the future Fallout].
- No raiders because they wanted players to know it was real players and not guess it's NPC or real players. A new type of ghouls (Faction) called Scorched that are essentially raiders because they are intelligent and can wield weapons (Guns). (Kinda like feral ghouls but not so far gone).
- ~63 things [Monsters] we have now. (Some old and updated to new ones).

- 18:02 is when Gameplay section starts.

- The video says no private or offline play [but this seems to just be outdated as of now in the video].
- You have to eat and drink to stay alive or you will starve, etc.
- The more rads you have, the more chance you get mutated. They have +/- traits to it, you can cure it or ways to get it permanently. Some are visual but some are gameplay side, tweaks your character.
- Food rots.
- Item degrades.
- Level up, you get a new perk card. You can re-roll cards by selecting different ones. You can share perk cards within parties.
- Voice chat, emotes and photo mode for communication.
- About 24-30 players on the servers. [Later on says 24]
- Open the map, you can see other players on it.
- If you're my buddy, I can immediately join in with you, load screen and you're in.
- Endgame - cyclical nuclear war - teams of players work together to find nuclear codes and solve puzzles. Rarer drops, materials, going back to the legendary system. Later on, find nukes again and do the same.
- Want to make nuke launching fun - make area high-level zone.
- 76 is full-priced games with free updates for years to come, will feature microtransactions - cosmetics only to support dedicated servers and keep DLC free. Purchaseable cosmetics will able to earn through gameplay.
- Roll updates and content to keep game fresh. Push decent updates at regular rate but also keep teams working on larger updates. New events or free items they give away [as updates to keep it fresh].
- They might have to change their [update/game] plans when the players play it.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Nearly €70 for the standard edition.

I'll hold off until the game is released, read reviews and stuff before I'm even thinking about paying for this one.

With the latest updates about multiplayer and instead of raiders they have ghouls...I am bit less worried.

It looks great, big part of fallout is just shooting/fighting. Quests will be there...will watch it the coming months and decide to skip it or give it a try.

Careful, it was a leak before E3 which explains the multiplayer, which is OFF when you go play. If you want to interact you have to enable it yourself.

Possible plot spoilers, watch out!
