Heart of the Swarm was the weakest campaign from all the three though, even story wise which wasn't that great to begin with..
LoTV(my favorite) improved all that in any aspect , And In a way bring some classic feel to the game which was missing in the previous campaigns.

For me it's
HotS>WoL>>>>>>>>>>LotV as far as story goes
LotV>HotS>WoL when it comes to gameplay
LotV had really solid gameplay, probably the best of the three. It's a shame the writing and story were so bad and nonsensical. SC2 was never particularly good when it comes to storytelling, but LotV was a new low. It's written like bad fan-fiction - huge quantities of fan service and boring cliches everywhere, with literally nothing to make it even a tiny bit more original or interesting.

Would agree with your review, I really liked parts 1 & 2 but didn't enjoy LotV, the story absolutely nose dived.

I had a blast, a real blast with Terran campaign. Have not played the others. I do not see reduction in quality compared to SC1/WC3 days at all.

Maybe your expectations on storytelling quality are not that high. Going from the intrigues, politics and betrayals of Brood War to the american hero soap opera of SC2 was awful. But I guess that's what passes by good story in most mediums nowadays, right?

Well, I judge campaigns as whole package, not just storytelling.
And it wasn't really "that great" in original neither.

Why? The campaigns are great |
Fuckin utter trash! Game lives on hype created by little people with slitty eyes, who like to boast about how big their logic board is, except the circuit was blown years ago. |
I'm talking about the gameplay, missions, abilities... all of this is really great in my book. You don't seem to like them with your kind of logic (I can't fathom exactly why, but oh well) so to each its own

Story wasn't great, I concur. Although, everything else was splendid and worth to play at least once. Got me hooked to the MP and now I'm a diamond mofo
