the engine itself is great, but not very well optimized, the main problem are the consoles being obsolete crap since their launch.
If we had a proper pc version, with original assets instead of just the downgraded console ones, the game could reach the old target render from 2 years ago.

Sure well tbh i wouldn't even care that much about the gfx, i'm usually not like that but i hate pretty much the whole cast the story is shit (at least if it really follows the leaks which is very likely the case as we have seen so far) and the gameplay sucks as well since it's basically KH instead of FF only way more shitty so what's left?

At this point the game could be a masterpiece in form of a very rough diamond, or it could be an absolute disaster.
Ah well, the TGS is next month, and if they dont show any spoilery footage from all the other regions apart from the first 3, then it will be extremely suspect of the overall game state.

That trailer is standard PS4 footage, the obvious giveaway is the heavy hair dithering, it looks the same as the current TGS build that was run on standard PS4 consoles.
Pro version looks significantly better than that, from the footage they've shown so far it comes pretty close to the 2013 trailers.

Either way it's miles ahead of FF13, the current build is an incredible improvement over the shitty Gamescom one 2 months ago.
I can't believe the progress they've made in such a short time, my hype for the game is definitely reinvigorated, especially after the recent extremely positive impressions.

Yup same here, everything else looks nice for an FF game.
Oh well, I'll probably have to wait a year or two before a PC versions makes it out. Maybe the extra time I can use to up my cringe resistance

A few previes (or pre-reviews) from today:
Gamespot
| Quote: | | The narrative told in FFXV's first five chapters is captivating, offering an enticing setup for an epic conflict.Whether for fans or newcomers, the game's numerous mechanics and activities proved rich and engaging. What remains out in the world of Eos is undeniably alluring, and I can't wait to explore more of it once the game finally launches this November. |
IGN
| Quote: | | Final Fantasy XV reinvents the lauded Square RPG again |
Polygon
| Quote: | After all this time, it feels impossible that I’m about to write these words, but here it goes: Final Fantasy 15 is good. In its first 15 hours, at least, it’s very good. [...] But any complaints I have feel really petty right now in light of what Square Enix seems to have accomplished with Final Fantasy 15.
That is: It’s made Final Fantasy relevant again. They’ve actually done it. I cannot wait to play more. |
Gamesradar
| Quote: | | Final Fantasy 15's world is visually striking, existing on the cusp between the real and the fantastical, and it's really easy to get lost in simply being here, drinking everything in while enjoying the playful banter between these four anime bros. It's a deeply strange juxtaposition, and having those grounded moments where you get lost in the routine of everyday life in a world where a giant freaking crystal meteor just hangs out in the middle of a big open valley makes it all the more intoxicating. |
USGamer
| Quote: | | That's an enormous burden for a single game to shoulder, and by all rights FFXV should be a failure. A spectacular failure, at that. Yet I've put in half a dozen hours with the game now, starting from the very beginning, and I'm pleasantly surprised to find they may just have pulled off what by all rights should be an impossible feat. |
Am I dreaming, or has SE actually really managed to pull it off? Holy fuck...

Yep, apparently combat has been completely revamped since the duscae and platinum demos, it has more weight now, is more responsive and not floaty anymore.
Most people who hated the combat in the demos actually like it alot now.

I hope the final game eases me into the combat better. I played the dream demo thing and I was able to beat the robot dude on the first try, but when I reactivated him for the second go, he kicked my ass, lol.
Clearly I need some practice.

be careful what you wish for, lest we get another another 20 hours of tutorial combat like FFXIII lol
but yeah on a more serious note, I'm sure it'll be fine. Duscae did it well enough with a sparring session with Gladio to teach the basics and some easy enemies to start with.
I'd expect something like that in the final game.
the dream demo was kinda weird.

yea you need to make a jap account, start the download and then you can play it on your normal account.
and yes, it has pro mode with hdr, you can switch between 4k mode and 1080p with 40-60 fps mode.

Oh what I forgot, you'll need to set your PS4 as primary console in your jp account too, then you can access the content from all other accounts.
