The concept looks a lot like Daikatana... Venturing through different enivornments, Romero is doing it...
Just saying
sar·casm | \ ˈsär-ˌka-zəm \
1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2a: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual
b: the use or language of sarcasm
what's awesome about that trailer, you could just replace it with any generic star wars character from the recent movie, and it would fit into the unintentionally comical mood of the movie.
Also, Adrian Carmack seems to be Chris Barrie's long lost brother
Hahah, this is a bold move Romero, let's see if it pays off
The idea sounds decent, not that we can actually tell since they're just showing us a couple of shoddy art-works, but still!
Well, I'm in on the $29 tier, just because I never paid for any Doom or Quake game but played them all religiously
But a release late 2018 is just the first game I backed on Kickstarter was A Hat in Time. They estimated a February 2014 release, and STILL aren't done. And they already had some gameplay to show when they presented their concept, yet Romero has some rough sketches and that's it.
Good luck to 'em but I'm not touching this one. Relying on his name and reputation only to push the campaign does nothing for me. Show some gameplay or proof of concept or something.
I'm old enough to remember daikatana
This could turn out a decent game, doom 1 & 2 had lots of twists on fps gameplay that just don't exist anymore. I would love to play an fps that brings some of that back, i think romero gets this and is evident in making these new doom maps.
Some levels have hundreds of monsters where focus is resource management.
Some less monsters but cyberdemons and spiders.
Some levels more puzzle focussed.
Traps that insta killed, holding wrong weapon and triggering a deathroom pickup was gameover.
Weapons were genius, each one useful in different scenarios or monsters.
Id just like to see a new fps that isnt straight line levels with obnoxious cut scenes every two seconds.
Definitely the right decision, IMO. They were already up $131k but coming back with an actual demo to show off just what's happening? Yeah, that's the best decision.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
I wonder how they're going to receive funding while creating the gameplay demo. Do they have some kind of deal with the Irish government? I don't see why else they moved to Ireland.
It be great if they thought of that earlier. Far too many cancel their project going: We'll come back with a demo/prototype... How about you learn from the ones that came before you already

What if they did think of that and everything was preplanned. They managed to make multiple sites to cover the news of the game

Just out of interest if a campaign gets cancelled:
What happens with the money of the funding? Do the people get a refund? Or will their money only get withdrawn from their money accounts, if the funding campaign in theory achieved the funding goal?

The husband-and-wife(Romero + Brenda) team are in Ireland as part of a Fulbright fellowship to work with Ireland’s game industry and educational institutions.
