One of these days it won't crash when I finish the first level and I can actually complete this game. Very Happy

Dragon Age: Inquisition

 Spoiler:

Last three use that ReShade style with black and white inverted with cel-shading though it seems to be a crime against the laws of the universe and possibly pissing off some god or another higher deity of gaming (Not that those actually exist.) as ultimate the game will always crash if these settings are used for a prolonged amount of time. Very Happy
(Realistically though something about the settings causes the GPU to scream out "WRONG!!" and crash the game although it's not too bad though still annoying, possibly related to the various visual glitches and artifacts seen in the background of the third of these types of images in the above set.)

(Also needs even more downsampling as the black lines around objects are still too thick and there's still visible aliasing.)

And finally this mod for the cloak appearance.

The last two mods (And soon the updated version of the first.) makes use of improvements to the mod tools via third party utilities, mainly this if I understood correctly which makes editing certain files much easier.

Just some quick screenshots, game looks pretty dated visually but it natively supports resolutions up to 3840x2400 and probably higher too along with AF, higher view distance and there's basic FXAA though as a 32-bit D3D9 game it's compatible with GeDoSaTo so I'm using that for downsampling and SMAA so FXAA can go fuck off. Well over the last couple of days a pretty big chunk of games got released so I tried to get some screenshots from all of them while also replaying some older ones, ended up being several replies one after another over the last week or so and to minimize that a bit I merged the most recent multi-posts together. Smile
(November looks like it will get pretty busy too, but will the upcoming games be good?)

Mostly normal shots though since I don't really know Cheat-Engine all too well to do stuff like hiding the UI or moving the camera around freely from the player (Ideally with FOV changing available.) and usually when these games do get trainers and CE scripts made for them there's not much that helps with screenshot functionality so most of the time it's standard gameplay shots without anything special done although in some rare cases (Two Worlds 2 to take one of the above games.) the developers do actually include a unrestricted dev console though not always with a document detailing the various commands possible but with a bit of digging one can find some pretty useful functions.

In other cases (Witcher 3, thus the large amount of screens I have from that game.) modders or "hackers" dig up and re-activate debug functionality which can at times work nearly as a full function photo mode for the game in question though this is pretty rare and it's rarer still that the developer doesn't then lock said function out or removes it entirely in later patches, modding when possible can also be quite useful just to mention that. Smile
(Speaking of stuff like "photo mode" Mad Max deserves a mention here for a wonderful photo mode, has some limitations but overall it's really good though not too many developers take the time to add stuff like that to their games.)

That and while I'm not too good at writing a decent review other than some quick opinions about the game I do really like to take screenshots of them and showcasing various parts of the games, not much for tinkering with ReShade/SweetFx either (Besides enabling SMAA.) although for those with more patience it can also enhance the games look a fair bit and now it's pretty easy to find presets for many of the more popular games too.
(ReShade itself still has a number of issues and work has slowed down a bit but it hasn't stopped though it's unknown when the next version will be released.)

Later on as other utilities become available some really talented artists can make beautiful scenes even in older and more dated games though it takes a lot of work.
(I'm not a huge fan of NeoGaf but the screenshot thread there is pretty good, Dead End Thrills and it's Flickr community album also has some really nice work.)

(Camera movement is very restrictive if you use photo mode during cutscenes or other areas where you have limited camera control while playing.)

EDIT: Patch seems to have helped a bit too, overall it stutters briefly as new "segments" of the map is streamed in but it's much improved from the initial release though it's probably not too different from how it was after the "interim" patch was released but I didn't play that version that much as I wanted to wait for the full re-release and any additional fixes.

You buy it once and can play without restriction afterwards, subscription is possible too and gives I think it's a +10% gold and XP bonus which isn't all too "P2W" or how to say and you furthermore gain a 1500 store credits a month when subscribed which you can use to buy either boosters or pets or outfits and of course the expansion content itself though as long as you have a active subscription you also have access to all expansion content though buying them separately means you can access them even after unsubscribing.

I bought the base game a few months back and haven't subscribed ever and since the Wrothgar / Orsinium expansion was less than 200 SEK (~15 USD or so.) I bought that separately, for the amount of content offered it's pretty well priced. Smile
(However the huge spike in traffic has lead to various server crashes - means you get disconnected and possibly lose the most recent 5 - 10 minutes of playtime. - and other stability issues as everyone is migrating to the new zones and if that wasn't a issue the huge amount of players also greatly increase load times though on the other hand the rest of the game is loading much faster now with a lower player count, especially the "Veteran" content once you hit level 50 though less players in the non-expansion areas also makes group play a bit more problematic though I think the dungeons are still pretty active even with the new ones in the expansion itself.)

And some screens from Anno 2205
 Spoiler:

(Downsampling is proving problematic but the game is very demanding as-is and it does support MSAA so aliasing isn't too big of a issue, especially with ReShade working and the addition of SMAA.)

Gameplay wise it tries to emulate the gameplay from Skyrim although further simplified and made similar to other MMO games so you can upgrade either health, magicka or stamina on level up and get one skill point to spend though you also gain skillpoints from completing major quests so while I'd recommend specializing in one weapon and armor type you can spread points over a wider variety of categories and it's possible to donate to temples in the main city of each faction to reset both attribute and skill points with the cost depending on your total skill and attribute points so later on it does get pretty costly until you have a reliable source of income.

You can also read books to (rarely) find one that gives you a skill to the available categories such as light, medium and heavy armor and various weapon and crafting skills, I think there's around 9 points in total for each skill that can be acquired from books but they are very rare and books read from bookcases are somewhat randomized so running around in towns and dungeons and reading these will give a few points every now and again.

What more could I say? There's a total of fifty levels to each skill and you progress in these both by using said skills (Swinging and hitting with a specific weapon, getting hit wearing a specific armor, casting spells and crafting.) and you also advance in your most frequently used skills when completing major quest events.

Skills have both active and passive abilities and each active ability can further be advanced four levels which at the forth level you can morph the skill and gain four new levels with a more advanced ability for said skill, I probably make it sound a bit overly complicated but to take soulgem trapping for example you can morph the skill to either split to multiple targets or absorb health for you as a way to recover a (small) amount of HP during battle.

Each character race (Including the Imperial in the "Deluxe Edition" of the game.) furthermore has a specific race skill tree such as improving health regeneration for imperials, swimming speed for argonians and so on, I haven't used that many of the races as I'm mostly playing with my primary character but it should be pretty easy to look it up on a wiki on what skills are available for each race.

Oh and there's four classes to choose from each having a specific series of skill trees in addition to the general skills anyone can learn (Weapons and armor and crafting.) which if I remember correctly there's the Dragon Knight ("Warrior") Templar ("Defensive Warrior") Rogue ("Thief") and Mage but it's been a while since I created a new character so I actually don't fully remember.
(Each class has access to both magical and physical attack skills but some are more suited to certain roles and weapon and armor types.)

Most of the game can be soloed though the group dungeons require a active party as the monsters will be scaled to your level and encountered in larger mobs so solo play is very difficult if not impossible, public dungeons are also available and are open to everyone so while tough there's usually several players trying to complete the events therein though certain bosses might take a bit of effort and group play to effectively combat.

There's a overarching story to the game as well with quests every tenth level that you do solo with AI NPC and completing the campaign unlocks the Veteran mode.
(Each faction also has a story spanning throughout that factions territory.)

Veteran content works such as you play the game again but from the perspective of another faction so if you were in the Ebon Pact and finished their story you would move on to the Daggerfall Covenant (As Veteran 1 - 5) and after that the Aldmeri Dominion (As Veteran 5 - 10) so you do get to see every region but it's locked down and static on how you progress through them and in what level range the content will be played.

There's around five to six regions for each faction in both Veteran and non-Veteran content and then some other regions such as Oblivion and the Craglorn zone added in a earlier content update patch plus of course Cyrodiil and it's DLC for primarily PvP and now Wrothgar for PvE with scaling so it can be played by any character at any level.
(The maps might not be huge but completing all quests and dungeons and finding stuff such as the skyshards - find three to gain a skillpoint - and other hiddent content means it can take a lot of time to completely finish up a single region.)

What else am I missing? You do have access to the Fighters Guild and Mages Guild with both quests for story progression and also ways to advance up their skilltree ("rank") plus there's the Undaunted PvE/Co-Op challenges and apparently the Thieves Guild will be the next DLC.
(It's a bit weird but you can steal and sell stolen goods to rogue fences found in sewers in most major cities - excellent way to make coin early on unless you get caught as selling to merchants don't really give much due to steep differences in selling and buying prices. - but there's no real thieves guild, yet.)

You can probably find much more via various wikis and of course stuff like the ESO or Steam Community ESO forum and the usual variety of gameplay videos. Smile
(I like the game but Veteran rank does get very "grindy" and the higher crafting levels also require a heavy amount of grinding.)

EDIT: WALL OF TEXT!!!
(And that's without going into more detail on say PvP, crafting, items and loot and whatever else I'm forgetting.)

Yeah no one would want to read through that mess, check wikis and the Steam or official ESO forums for a more coherently structured stream of info on the game and it's various gameplay elements. Very Happy

EDIT: Mind - Path to Thalamus
 Spoiler:

(Ported to UE4, looks about the same but has a few enhancements such as VR support and some new content, performance is excellent too.)
