Just installed this game a couple of hours ago and after going outside of the tower it crashes after about 5-10 minutes. Performance is great, not suttering or lag etc.. I've ran around and did a couple of the objectives, fought some zeds, etc.. but always crash after 5-10 minutes. My settings are at 1920x1080 with everything on and maxed except motion blur disabled, shadows at medium, view distance at default 50%. I've tried dropping view dist. to 0%, tried running in window mode, tried .09 and .25 drivers, etc.. It's showing that it's using a little over 4g of my sys ram and cpu usage is about 46-48% spread out fairly even amongst the 4 cores. The crash screen says:

DyingLightGame.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0xf301c3e3 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written.
Click OK to terminate the program

Could anyone shed some light on what might be causing this or what i could try. Using the rld version with crackfix, hopefully they'll release the new update soon.

I thought I'd not like this game because of dead island, but it's actually a really solid game. It's nothing new but it's just fun to play. I usually hat parkour bullshit but they pulled it off really good with this game.

On a side note , why do people make their games public and when you join one of these game they kick you out? Very Happy There is "friends only" game mode. Ironically, it was mostly Russians who had it set up this way and who kicked me Very Happy They prolly thought I was a "Western Imperialist" or something. Reaction

@madness

Was it a cutscene?

@Paeter
I have no idea try to move from rld save location to ALI213 emu save location, but use your RLD save username in ali213.ini.
Or just wait RELOADED.

So they removed actual moddable options? What a bunch of cocks Good, staying on pre-patch version that has been fun now. No need for such bs to be added now.

I'll have to check whenever I can actually return to the tower as that's the first time I see it though some of those large street signs might at times be a blurry mess but once the game has finished streaming it's back to high res again. Smile

EDIT: Yeah seems modding no longer works, the game will not load extracted files after this update.
( filesystem_x64_rwdi.dll ?)

I don't have this bug.Maybe it has something to do with texture streaming.

I saw van too (even before patch) while going to do the mission when you take dynamite from construction site.

Seems the value for view distance was changed with this patch according to a few comments, in video.scr 100% corresponded to a value of 8.6 and now it's 2.6 although I assume one could just enter any custom value and it will still work.

EDIT: A quick comparison.

It's not a very good comparison as the chroma effect makes things hazy and the lack of MSAA do cause a lot of aliasing/shimmering but it should still suffice until someone does a proper job with it. Very Happy

They cut down view distance a fair but (2.6 which is the new 100% was apparently 55% in the original.) which they probably should have mentioned and they also added a Very High setting for shadows which corresponds to 4096 resolution used by High in 1.0 so that's good at least. (I assume low was 1024 and then medium 2048 and high 4096 and now low is 512 instead.)

CPU utilization is better so they really did improve that part of the engine. Smile

I think they just cosmetic, enjoy seeing your new arms and legs in first person. Very Happy
(Well it probably has a better purpose in co-op making you look more experienced or how to say.)

Changing texture to high and restarting the game fixed it. But sadly it doesn't work very well on my 2GB VRAM graphics card, so I guess I'll have to live with medium textures.

Yesterday at the Techland's office:

Quote:

- Oh, man, these gamers are just..!They complain about everything! They put the viewing distance slider to 100%, get shitty performance on 4770k, nvidia 980 and 16 Gb and then badmouth our game. What should we do? How do we fix this?

- Let's ninja nerf it! We'll make a new 100% that would be equivalent to the old 50% in regard to the level of details! This way players will be able to set it to 100% and they will be in awe of how good performance is!

- Damn, dawg! That's really slick!
