The worst thing about this forced bullshit is that unless you set Steam to be "offline", you have no choice. There's no "offline" option in the game, so it's either Steam offline, firewall DS2 server IPs, or alt-f4 until you're eventually banned. All this does is cater to the cheaters and griefers and is a ridiculous move, but oh well.

What do you mean by that?
Ah you mean getting invaded by other players? I don't know what the mechanics in DS2 are like, but in Dark Souls you could simply stay hollow or disconnect from gfwl if you didn't want to deal with that crap. My first playthrough was with yarr version and I wasn't online until the very end, when paxsali gifted me the game.

I'm not sure what you mean, what's confusing? I don't like forced PvP and I hate the griefershit hivemind trolling responses of "it's part of the game, deal with it" from DS2 fanatics on GAF/Reddit/Steam. So because the game has forced PvP and the only way to avoid it is to set Steam "offline" or have my save banned, I have no intention of ever buying this. If FROM wants to cater to griefers and shitbags, they can have their money and not mine.

Nope, it's forced this time - whether you're hollow or not - and there's no ingame "offline" function. It's online forced (if you have a net connection, not "required to play" sort of thing) and you get your save banned from online functionality if you alt-f4/disconnect too many times.

When playing DS1 on my PC with online functionality i was invaded perhaps 5 times. 2 of those times were cheaters. This shit does not sit well with me either.

Yeah, as I said, I don't know how this is in Dark Souls 2. I think the transition between hollow and alive is a bit more fluid?
@Stormwolf: Luckily I never encountered a cheater. Though some of those invaders were tough motherfuckers. Especially because I leveled up like a noob and finished my first playthrough at level 97. So any body invading me had a specialized build like hulk, and I was just trying to dogde and land a hit xD
With the new build it's exactly the opposite: People invade me, see me on soul level 27 and assume that their armor and upheld shield will withstand my pyromancy flame  Killed all invaders with this pyro char. And I don't invade others, doesn't fit my playstyle

But I guess you can only be invaded once, like in Dark Souls, until you go to a bonfire again? And there seem to be also penalties for people that invade too often. I will just give it a shot and return with feedback if it is really that trigger happy

Burn a Effigy, the invasion rate goes down substantially. With the amount of players playing the game, by burning an effigy you are so down the list it is extremely unlikely that you will get invaded. Especially if you are in hollow at the same time. Also just block the game in firewall, how hard is that? I can understand if you want steam online for chatting, but if you have no intention to play the online part of the game...I don't understand this complain at all. Aren't we PC gamers because we can have options whether the devs want it or not? The fuck is FROM going to do about you blocking.
Guess what, if you play offline, the game has NPC invasions to mimic online activity in PVP heavy locations. You do have the option here.

Or also steam community groups if your friendlist doesn't have that many people playing Dark Souls. Better yet - include it as a option to select which pool to use for matchmaking invasions. If there were managed steam invasion groups, which would ban all who exploit, cheat, grief etc., the online features could almost be a good thing.
But as it stands right now, I'll definitely enjoy superior isodemo.

Dunno if repost but some "enhancements" via nvidia inspector by durante .. Basically SGSSAA , HBAO + , AF etc. Won't save it much considering the lighting downgrade it went through.
