Totally. Luckily for us, Indiana Jones managed to foil their plans in the end, else we'd all be slaves of the Evil Nazi Empire today.

Exactly. Which is why it's ridiculous to speak of "historical accuracy" in the context of a game like this when every history book you can take as a reference is biased in one way or another. WW2 was 70 years ago and we still don't know the definite truth, only the widely accepted consensus that now and then is challenged when a book comes out and shines light on previously unknown facts.

I see you read the evil plan the Nazis wrote

don't really need victors to write history when you have plans Hitler deemed super which entailed that 15% of Ukrainians be made slaves

Can't really remember the percentages for other Slav countries

Relic should focus on 40,000 games. Even if just to escape the wrath of Ruskies, and clauset nazis bemoaning how their poor country is misrepresented in western media. Also, much better games.

Played a few missions, not impressed. Problem as I see it is not lack of historical accuracy (which is a ridiculous claim anyway), but that the script is just standard cheap Hollywood drama. In the second mission there's no urgency at all, but then all of a sudden in the final cutscene a bridge is blown up just as the retreating soldiers try to cross it leaving them behind. Oh the suspense. But that's a general problem with games and not unique to this one.

Then there's the technical side. FPS is acceptable (no physX for me though Sad ), but load times are atrociously long, gfx seem to freeze for a minute while sound keeps playing at the start of a mission, and the game crashes at least once per mission. Dunno if it's my system (only 4GB of RAM) or a poor crack/steam emu. Also no quicksave hotkey - WTF Relic?

honestly, the history part i could forgive. But the game being the same as COH from all those years ago, looking almost the same, nothing really changed at all ... i cannot. I'm fine with a sequel following the footsteps of its preccessor, but you can always improve. COH2 and COH are the exact same game, with only minimal graphical difference (certainly not justifying all those years of development lol, COH2 could be a mod for COH).

considering it's a 8 year old engine .. i really wonder what the fuck they added, that makes performance so randomly bad.

Idk, I think it looks pretty sweet... the ice and snow, fire and smoke effects. Not sure what exactly they added over CoH though. Just finished the 3rd mission and it crashed again when the cutscene should have played. :S

CoH2 Battle Servers Alpha Test
30 January - Relic_Noun
CompanyofHeroes2_Semoskiy_winter

As we continue to work towards improving the Company of Heroes 2 online experience we’re turning to you, the community, to help us test one of the biggest new technologies in Company of Heroes history – the Battle Servers. Once launched the Company of Heroes 2 Battle Servers will be an important step towards reducing lag during online play and preventing unfair play such as drophacks.

Since these servers require such a massive change in how Company of Heroes 2 online play works, we want to test them extensively before we make them live in the full retail game.

Today we’re launching the Company of Heroes 2 Battle Server Alpha Test.

The success of this Alpha Test will rely a great deal on community participation. There will be times when we need to stress test the servers, and will call on you to hop on and play various game modes, to ensure that they can handle the number of players that enjoy CoH2 every day.

We appreciate feedback on your playing experience in this forum.

As this is an Alpha Test there are issues that we’re aware of, and others that we currently aren’t collecting in regards to this Alpha Test.

The following are currently known issues:

Sync Error Detected message displays when viewing a replay

[LOC] $11064199 No Key displays for Tutorial button in front end when in another language

Battle Server - If you lose your connection to the internet & get it back, CoH doesn't recover & continues to give you an error

Battle Server -If you disconnect via lag/cable pull and reconnect, you are unable to continue playing online

Battle Server - Intense lag/disconnection from one player can drop other players

Players receive multiple notifications/event cues when a player quits from the game

Single player ToW solo missions against the AI may be unstable

We are also not taking balance feedback as part of the Alpha Test, so please continue to give that sort of feedback in the forums you were using before.

Thank you to everyone for your help testing our Battle Servers.

Here are the instructions for joining the Company of Heroes 2 Battle Server Alpha Test.

Open Steam

Go to your Steam Library

Right click on Company of Heroes 2 and select “Properties”

Click the “BETAS” tab in the Properties menu

Use the drop down to select “public-alpha“

Steam will now download the Alpha Test

Launch the game

Feedback is best given in this forum.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

more than 100 point limit : there's a fair bit of maps popping up with them what limits those is manpower tho it aint really fun to play on kursk (2000pop cap) after you got 150+ man out aka say goodbye to manpower
