That i put more value and respect for a company to gain such a status by purely it's fans and community, then when a company achieves the same but basically bought it's way to that point. |
You acting like RIOT did this ever since LoL came out. LoL´s popularity started to raise rapidly ever since 2011, and back then (s1), none of the tournaments except the s1 finale was made by RIOT, same with s2. And the salary thing JUST fucking started with s3, so how can you say that they BOUGHT their way to this point. What you can say is that LoL/Riot has come to a point where Riot can pay actual salary to players and host their own series of tournaments. |
This.
And yes its pretty obvious what you said sausje, and now it seems that you are trying to back yourself out of a corner, because you did not know the whole story behind lol and riot. Man up.
I have no great love for riot or lol, but I think its great that a bunch of people now make a living out playing video games. Its a fantastic scenario.
Zipfero you have to explain that, why is this not good for e-sports?
"Add to the fact that they initially tried forcing E-sports organisations to restrict themselves to only having ONE team in the genre or only staying in LoL if they wanted access or support to their own tour. Its fine, they can do what they want, but thats how it is."
And explain this, I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just curious.

So saying "basically" and "more populair" means "all popularity"?
See how your imagination twisted my words in your own shit? |
Same goes for you.

For zipfero's last point, basically Riot was taking action with the major tournaments organizers ( ESL, Dreamhack, etc ) in order to make them have LoL the only game allowed in the whole MOBA/ARTS genre. They wanted no competition and binding exclusivities over venues, basically.
Since the whole thing got public, they apparently stopped negociating for that. ESL is still said to be completely locked by Riot officials - since they're near bankrupt, Riot is their only reliable money, and they take full advantage of that situation.

They tried doing it to teams too. Force them to only have LoL teams in the genre. And they made MLG sign an exclusivity agreement for 12 months when they introduced LoL
