He's not even close to being technically right, the PC is a platform so the developer actively confirmed "across all platforms" means PC too, there's no wiggle room or interpretation or assumption there
We don't even have a quote from the developer using the words "all platforms". That's EG's wording.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
VideoGamer.com went hands-on with both the PC and PlayStation 4 versions earlier this week, with the latter running at a smooth 30FPS.
The Xbox One version is not yet thought to have been shown.
So if "all platforms" run at 30fps why does the journo that tried both PC and PS4 versions has to specify it was the PS4 one that was running at 30fps? Why doesn't he say "both of which were running at 30fps"?
Again, not proof the PC version is not capped (I will be so pissed off if the game turns out to be capped and people tell me "I told you so" when what I am saying is that it's not confirmed, not that it's not capped), but food for thought for those "the PC is a platform => 30 fps on PC" people
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

I'm looking forward to saying "I told you so" because I did. I did tell you so. The developer has emphatically confirmed "30fps on all platforms" which, again, the key words being "confirmed" and "all platforms" - so expect me to say "I told you so."

He said the PS4 was "running at a smooth 30FPS" because the PC was running below 30 fps.
You are saying you can read that statement in many ways instead of a definitive one
Shit, that's like the point I am making about the original statement!
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
>It hasn't been confirmed to be running at 30fps on PC. That's just people assuming.
>"Developer has confirmed to us that the game has a 30fps cap on all platforms"
>They don't say PC so I'm going to be very cross if the game has a cap and people say "I told you so" because gosh darn it, the word "PC" was never used.

As far as I can gather, it's something to do with drop-in/drop-out multiplayer, where any AI car at any time can be taken over by a human player dropping into the game.
not really, you dont take place of the AI, you add yourself to them.
So this AllDrive is no different to any other game then? It's just pointless "dressing" and cutifying the name in order to seem different. Taking over an AI is unique, joining them isn't. Drop-in/drop-out multiplayer isnt unique either, it has been done before - so this "we lock to 30fps because of AllDrive, haha" is just pfft.

not really, you dont take place of the AI, you add yourself to them. that circle is like drawing distance in mmos, for example planetside. when you enter in proximity of other player, your client starts to get info from him, so you see his car, activity and stuff. when you leave the circle, clients disconnect. all of this is being calculated on a remote server, so there is no transition or host migration, because host isnt the player. so it works like lots and lots of clouds, and you transfer between clouds freely. sometimes they overlap and merge into one, then they split again.
i bet it works kinda like this, it makes sense.
Yup, it just sounds like any standard drop-in/drop-out multiplayer, I'm not really seeing anything innovative here and certainly not that would lend credence to their "explanation" of the framerate caps. Oh well.. as Leo said; yoyogangsterdrift30fpscrap.
"And that makes me really happy. But in reality, I think we're going to have both those consoles pretty much on parity – maybe one sticking up a little bit. And I think that one will look as good as the PC.

Polygon only wrote what EA Ghost boss Marcus Nilsson said. This Quote you posted is not a quote from Polygon themselfs...
And as i read in other previews that had the possibility to play PS4 and PC version, they all said, that both versions looked the same.
Perhaps this can answer some more questions about the things that "Alldrive" can offer. I think its not a bad thing but far away from the "wwwwoooooowwwww" feature Ghost is claiming it to be
@ Singleplayer-people. You still can play the game in Singleplayer. You dont need to have a internetconnection.
If you have an internetconnection you can set your game to "private" and then only invited friends can join your world.

Exactly, the quote was from the game producer hence, i used heavy sarcasm .. saying polygon knows better than them.
They even call it "gameplay"..that's absolutely embarrassing How can people have fun and feel rewarded with something like this is beyond me. It's really the Call of Duty of racing games, maybe even worse since at least in CoD you still need to aim.

Perhaps because there are people wo like arcade too?
Im one of those people. I really like simulations (GTR3, LFS, rfactor) but i like arcade racing games too. Especially there are so few good arcade racing games for the pc...
You dont need to have fun with certain games. But there are people out there who will play games like this - and those are not only 10 years old kiddies.. there are grown ups too
