Cheers.
Kinda funny they offer toughness as a recommended skill for beginners in their guide considering it's a stealth based game.=) And you loose lots of xp if you start acting like a terminator. =)

I take it it's just me having shitty performance, artefacts and SPS splurging all over the screen, along with my GPU fan screaming like a fucking Boeing 737? Yippee.

Just finished Vlad's mission and I found it to be quite easy if you just shadow leap to high areas.
Spoiler: |
From the bushes with the ghouls,I made my way up via the balcony. You can shadow leap pretty high if you have the skill maxed and that is what I did.
I took care of the first fuse box in the area, but didn't even have to touch others since Vlad stays in a certain area.
When you get to the high area with UV trap(near the second fuse box) and Vlad on the other side, just shadow leap past the trap and sneak behind him...simple.
|
Oh and you do have 2 normal saves on normal(not sure about hard) during each section...use them wisely.

I had exactly the same plan in mind but i haven't tried it yet because i don't want to loose XP mobs have to offer.=)
If i kill Vlad right away will the mission automatically end?
PS yup..it ends=) i killed everyone there) alas not in stealth mode =(

Performance wise I'm not impressed either.
The dancefloor in the beginning put me in the low 40s with one 680 @1080p. With both I get low 50s at that point @1440p (there is no dedicated SLI profile).

I finally managed to try the game (did the first three proper levels after dinner) and have to admit, I'm quite disappointed.
It's basically a 100% linear stealth game with super-powers and cutscenes that has nothing to do with Bloodlines, but as a fan of the genre, that would be fine if the gameplay was actually supported by enough variety/good level design. The story seems rather cheesy as well, though it was to be expected.
The two aspects that I found particularly underwhelming are the repetitiveness and braindead AI...especially the latter, which can lead to some hilarious situations xD. The graphics and style aren't too bad, the animations on the other hand make the Gamebryo look like a superb engine. As for the performance, Sabin, you're not alone , there are several -unjustified- framerate drops that can be annoying indeed, though it's mostly in that first level like C.Mac said.
It's a rough game overall, very consolish too, that works only at times..and sadly I don't see any particularly interesting redeeming features here that can save it from the mediocrity.

I don't know what anyone expected from this game really. Trailers might not be the most accurate representation, but when it looks that bad, it can only be bad.

Yeah you definitely have a point , though I kinda hoped that the stealth part was at least decently done, considering all the upgradable powers/abilities. Alas the poor level design and terrible AI are killing all the fun for me.

Haha, I just wanted to clarify that since there was some confusion at first about the genre/amount of freedom/RPG-lite aspects (which are obviously non-existent).

For the record, this is the first real game to officially support oculus rift out of the box.
Unlike doom3 and hawken which used it as a selling point and never delivered, this one actually did.
The menu and UI stuff appear as a gigantic floating curved screen in front of me
It's kind of cool to be able to look around in cutscenes.
But unfortunately it's a stupid game to implement it in.. what use is it in a third person game that looks like it was made in the 90s?
I rather just play it on a monitor.
Maybe if it got a first person mod i might try again

Uh this game.. i managed to play it for 5 minutes before deleting it. The graphics and the shitty blur are horrible. The character movement and lip sync during the cut scenes too..
Per aspera ad astra

If you like linear sneaking around.
Doesn't seem that bad, to be honest. I was expecting much worse.
