I played it for about 15 hours now.
At first it was pretty ok. But know i must pretty much force myself to keep playing, because every mission is practically the same. And the combat is so bad, it's no fun.
I would fuck myself if i paid the full price for this Shocked

Dear all,

as you may have noticed we have gone a bit silent over the recent days while we were busy collecting and evaluating your feedback and suggestions for the future of Omerta.

The result is an interim list of features which we are planning to provide via a free content update (PC and Xbox) for the game:

- New maps for multiplayer and sandbox modes
- Enemy gang for sandbox mode, operating independently and taking over businesses - can both attack the player and be attacked by the player
- Customizable game settings and goals for sandbox games
- Economy overview panel for current businesses with their efficiency, profit, ect.
- Visual representation of individual business types on the strategic map via icons
- Additional difficulty setting and "Iron Man" option (saving progress in strategic mode disabled)
- Massive overhaul of cover mechanics in turn-based combat
- Introduction of multiplayer chat and several other minor fixes/changes

Our goal is to make these features available some time between 4 and 8 weeks from now and I will report back with our progress regularly. As stated, the above list is still work-in-progress and subject to further additions and changes.

I would like to thank the community and everyone involved in the discussions about gameplay mechanics, suggestions and tweaks for their feedback and ongoing support.

"Forced" myself to finish the last battle yesterday. Just used cheatengine to give myself unlimited AP Very Happy
Like you can read in other places, it really feels like some Flash or Facebook game. The longer i played it, the more i needed to force myself to keep playing.
In the end, even the little money i paid for a cheap rus key, is still too much Sad

I tried the game a couple of days ago and found it too repetitive and simplistic to be entertaining, with the whole simulation that feels flat and lifeless and the turn-based part which can be really cringe-worthy at times (thanks to the artificial dumbness and the inevitable scripted fighting). It has nice ideas, the implementation on the other hand is ..meh. Razz The patch sounds good, but I doubt it will save this game from its failures.

Just played for a couple of hours -

2 new maps in sandbox mode.

Sandbox mode allows you to select heat level and gang expansion rate (difficulty).

Drivebys now require that that the henchman carrying it out has a car - either steal or buy a car (stolen and used cars have limited uses before they break, new cars are permanent)

Gang expansion consists of them carrying out a driveby on your business to take it over. There is a new upgrade on all business called "Goons". Basically, at a cost of $1,000 they serve as a one-use (but replenishable) shield against drivebys.

I started a new game in one of the new districts, putting police presence on Medium and Gang Expansion on High - and summarily got my ass handed to me (expansion and money wise, not really combat wise).

It's definitely breathed a little new life into the game - then again I really enjoyed it beforehand so my opinion may be a bit biased.

Sounds definitely more interesting than before, thanks. Razz The overhauled combat should be a nice improvement as well since the original one was kinda random.

To be honest I'm not quite sure what they overhauled in the actual turn based combat system. The only thing I noticed is that when you mouse over an enemy, the weapon they are using appears as an icon.

The cover system seemed to function identically to the way it was before to me, didn't notice any changes.
