G500 is still my choice. Fuck Razer, I've never seen any mouse from that seems like it'll last more than 3 months, such flimsy builds.

Moved on from my Deathadder 3.5 (great build, but the weird stuff they treated the mouse buttons with wore away a bit too much to my liking). Just got a Logitech G400, and it does use the same software that Raccoon posted a screencap of up there ^
It's got a decent amount of customisation, and the Logitech software doesn't seem to have a huge memory imprint (I always felt the Razor software lagged a little at times, but maybe that was just me).
One thing I will say about it is that it's currently giving me a little cramp with my ring finger and pinkie, but I do have very long fingers, so bear that in mind.

my g400 have it set at 500 by default and mouse acceleration on.
Isnt it cpu taxing to switch it yo 1000 ? I cant feel any difference myself

Yeah it does effect little bit of cpu, it is more noticeable on low end cpu-s. Polling rate is how many times your mouse is sending commands to computer. At 1000 the lag between commands is 1ms, at 125 it is 8ms. So between 500 (2ms) and 1000 it may not be so noticeable anymore, but you should feel difference between 125 and 1000 for sure, especially in fps games where response time matters between click/movement and what is happening on screen.

Well, if Logitech Gaming Software is used only to set up the On-Board profiles of your mouse, after making sure everything works the way you like it, the software itself can then be completely uninstalled without any harm. Mouse doesn't need it anymore and will load everything from its internal memory.

LGS is only required when the software profiles are being used, i.e. "Automatic game detection" is enabled.
