So far we got only some kind of timer and the confirmation (via email to PC Gamer) that it's NOT a Facebook game. I'm really curious what will it be. Strategy in BattleTech universe would be awesome...

So not excited.

The devs are touting it as the spiritual successor to Mech Commander. *drool*

Sounds like shit.
It's some lame turn based game (the game is lame, not the turn based part before someone has a nerd fit), where you'll pay to win.
It also sounds like there is no SP campaign.
"spiritual successor" to mechcommander my ass.

i would love to see a game that combined mechwarrior and battletech into a big strategy/rpg with the feel of the paper/dice versions (which were two separate games. mw was about the pilots and was more of a traditional rpg with skills and stats, and bt was the tactical miniatures based combat focused part. you could play them separately or combine them if you liked both rpgs and miniature based war gaming). the bt game on amiga was pretty close, but it was also quite boring from what i recall. from the bullet list of features on their site, this sounds like its just about the mechs and combat...

Then start one. They're two different games, mixing them together is only going to lead to confusion.

I always thought MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries was the best of the bunch, with MechWarrior 3 being second.
The fourth one was more of a arcade shooter than it was MechWarrior.

yes 4 lost me on the whole part slots... one of the great things about battle tech was taking out things like jump jets if you didn't need them and putting in more weapons or armor.

I am still wishing for a new MechCommander game. The first one was amazing. The second one was pretty meh. If they can take the first game and continue from there story wise and update the graphics then i will definately jizz my pants. Why do they have to make MechWarriors all the time. Yes this is turn based so it is a step in the right direction but it doesnt have a proper singleplayer storyline...

Does anyone have a key for the closed beta for this that they never used or don't want?
