Not being an expert all I can say is I really like my Asus z68 Pro motherboard..got some nifty features i tell ya! I also have a i5 2500k but 16 gb of 1600 mhz ram(accidentally bought double Laughing)

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

i researched that mobo last night (gen3 version to be specific), but im always came across with some weird problems. like usb ports not giving any response while playing games or bad memory slot or pci ex slot problems or triple boot/double boot and some other bad thoughts about that mobo.. and it wasnt encouragin for me tbh.. but i dont know i still have time, maybe something or someone can change my mind. Very Happy

Looks good. PSU is a bit overkill for that build, but at least you picked a good unit (Seasonic build). In fact, it's pretty much flawless performance wise Smile

I own that MSI motherboard, and there are a couple of things of which you need to be aware.

First, MSI motherbards don't seem to support any kind of voltage offsets for overclocking at present. What that means is that when you set you CPU Vcore coltage manually when you overclock, it will always remain at that voltage, even when your CPU downclocks on idle or on lesser loads. The only way around it is to leave the voltage on Auto, which works fine, but will probably give you a higher voltage for the overclock than what you would set manually, since those things tend to play it safe.

Second, be sure to update the BIOS. I am not sure if they are shipping the boards with the updated versions now, but the one that was on the board by default has some annoying glitches: possible mouse control issues in BIOS setup (worked fine for me); system can hang on boot if certain USB devices are connected - the 360 controller being a good example... The worst one was when some kind of a failure happened when restarting an overclocked system, marking the BIOS as damaged, which made the system switch from primary to secondary BIOS and then failing to boot at all on the second attempt (The third attempt would load the primary BIOS again).
All that was fixed in the later BIOS releases, so it's all good now, but it could cause a scare if you are caught unaware Smile

Well I have no issues what so ever. And the auto OC feature is pretty hot for a novice like me

I'm on the same mobo as Zip and I can confirm that it's actually pretty awesome (though I'm not a super-expert either heh Razz). Your new build is great btw Smile

this is my last decision about system so far

cpu: intel 2500k
mobo: asus p8z68-v/gen3
ram: corsair vengeance 2x4gb ddr3-1600mhz cl9
gpu: asus gtx560ti directcu ii
ssd: 128gb corsair performance pro
psu: corsair ax650w 80+ gold
case: corsair 400r
cpu cooler: corsair h60 with 2x scythe slipstream (push/pull)
+ some cheap 4x or 6x fan controller

i changed my mind about phone, im gonna pick up sennheiser hd518 and save some money for x360 gamepad + corepad mx518 skatez

i think this will do for about 3yr for me Razz
last minute changes: ssd Very Happy
