They won't stop saying that line even if you cure yourself from your wolf spirit unfortunately, it's permanent and in my opinion a bit of a oversight.

(I also dislike how certain armors don't give a appropriate comment, daedric especially but also specialized armor like scale, steel plate and certain artifacts for example.)

(Some also seem incorrect, legion armor usually gets me remarks on ditching the elven equipment and trust in nordic steel instead, faction armor would probably be nice if covered too especially minor "hostile" factions like Thalmor, Foresword, Bandit "fur" scraps and of course that ancient "draugr" armor like what you mentioned.)

Just type fov 85 in the game's console and save your game.

Three values, Skyrim.ini under [Display]

fDefault1stPersonFOV=75.0000
fDefaultWorldFOV=75.0000
fDefaultFOV=75.0000

(Default is 55 or 65 or some such, FoV on itself sets it to 75, 80 - 85 would probably work also on 16:10 with a bit more on 16:9, unsure if it's vert or horiz FoV though but I don't know enough about that sort of thing anyway so I normally use ~75)

Thanks for clearing that up JB Wink

So only the "Oh my god, your armor stink like death" is bound to my ancient armor.
I should be able to live with it then ^^

Am i the only one not using horses? I tried at the beginning, but there's no real benefit for using one. I'm not even sure they're faster than running.

Fuck horses.
I think they are slightly faster, but what you gain in speed you loose in maneuverability and not being able to pick ingredients on the fly.

I use them, but I use a faster horses mod.

Ty very much JB Smile
My native res is 1920x1200 and ive read somewhere that fov 85 is recommended for that res. I'll maybe try 75 to see if that's even better.

@DarkRohirrim That method didn't work when i re-lunched/started the game as it went to defaults.

It's mostly down to personal preference, I'm sure there's a optimal value depending on aspect ratio (Think there was a calculator for that even, both for Horizontal and Vertical FoV.) though some games use 50 - 65 to get things to look a bit more zoomed in or narrowed as to give a more up close experience but this also feels very restrictive, I tend to balance it at around 75 but 80 - 85 are also very popular for those who prefer a more zoomed out view.
(Depending on FoV method going too high will just skew the image unnaturally, fish-eye method is a bit better as it allows much higher values but of course it also rounds the image out or how to describe this.)

Using the console works as well but can reset to the default INI value (65?) in certain circumstances so the ideal is to use both of these, first change the ini file and then use the console command and after that save the game, should be fully set afterwards. Smile
(At least it's a improvement over Oblivion and how Fallout 3 / NV might handle the field of view at times.)

Has anyone else got or read about this bug? For some odd reason I've got the Flame Atronach fire trail on my character. It doesn't do anything and looks kinda cool, but I've not read of anyone else experiencing anything similar.

Another problem, I updated to 1.3 as I had an elder dragon didn't give me it's soul for the first time. I know one of the "fixes" of the 1.2 patch was correcting the Y axis sensitivity, however it seems broken to me.

I play as an archer and when you pull back with an arrow, the mouse sensitivity lowers (deliberate game mechanic) - which is fine, however with the 1.3 patch, the X axis is lowered but the Y axis is not. Anyone know of a fix for this?

I've tried using a low fMouseHeadingYScale value in SkyrimPrefs, but it seems it doesn't have any effect Sad

Skyrim.ini for that tweak, not SkyrimPrefs.ini also as of patch 1.2 the default is 0.850 instead of 0.200 (I think it was 0.200 for both of these.) although the 1.3 patch could have changed those again.
(I need to test with a default ini file as it won't overwrite existing/modified values when using SaveINI command.)

Odd trail bug though, you have somehow got their "spell" or well attribute on you, how strange.

EDIT: SetRace command could work (Player.SetRace "Flame Atronach" and then back to what you were before, I might remember this wrong though.), or it could really screw your character over if used carelessly, player.removeperk might also work (000002f3b5) but I could not find that specific attribute.

Ah awesome, player.setrace atronachflamerace and then back to my original race (wood elf) worked. I don't see anything that's immediately broken so I assume it's fixed.

Also I'm positive that ini setting worked in SkyrimPrefs with 1.1, oh well. I can't really fix it though because if I lower the Y sensitivity so it's correct for archery, it's too low for normal use. Guess I'll roll back to 1.1 of the game.

Thanks JBeckman

'sexchange' has no undesired consequences. Not sure about player.setrace. When I was testing different armour looks for races, I ended with my character slightly hovering over ground.

I like 100 fov for 3rd person, and 110 for first person. Same resolution as you. Eliminates the nausea and I can see shit.

Horses are quite useful for traversing the landscape, as they can climb up mountains and steep hills where your unmounted hero just struggles.

Oh, and you can walk down almost vertical mountain/hill sides on a horse too. Kinda funny.

But Horses. Good for shortcuts. Oh and if you fall with a horse, you don't die. The horse does of course... Laughing
