And yes, i'm making it under Useless Void as our dear Android bootlicking users would want it.
Just an easy and plain explanation as to why Android or any other open source OS/platform fails:
No guidelines! Anyone can make anything they want, they can spread it everywhere they want. Even if you make an app for a phone using Android you can quite easily get it to the market service. No one forces you to use the guidelines, so most of the apps i've used on HTC Desire just suck.
Now let's take iPhone - if someone creates something for it, there's a fucking mercantile quantity of guidelines to follow as Apple is forcing it upon! Otherwise you can't spread your app on official channel.
FUCKING CENTRAL CONTROL, THAT'S WHAT IMPORTANT
I'm not even going down to the business sector - if they had to use some Linux distro for client OS they'd be completely stupid without any proper support.
Closed Source is an essential if you want non-buggy working experience in software world.
OBJECTION?

Wow, jumping from one world to another. Comparing political system to software end product's source limitations.
Would an average end-user choose Windows/OS X or some open source based one? Wrong, they wouldn't want Linux. Again, why? No central support - there's no direct way to contact in case of needed support, and the average end-user is never gonna browse the Internets for corresponding forums.
And again, your comparison failed miserably. Democracy still assumes there's laws (framework) to go by. Democracy doesn't mean there's anarchy in that country. Open Source practically means just that - even if it doesn't make any good figurative relation.

Yeah, because obviously all those Linux distributions and UNIX based operating systems failed miserably
OS X is a semi-closed source version of a UNIX O/S, and that still fails miserably. A lot of specialised and professional software doesn't support OS X or have announced to drop support for it. Why? Because it is that closed and that annoying to work with.
An end-user also doesn't choose OS X, because you can't choose it. You choose to overpay for Mac hardware, side "bonus" being OS X. Please don't compare Windows and OS X like that, because they're completely separate products. Both are closed source for the most part, but Windows is a thousand times more advanced in what it does and doesn't do. Apple use mostly open-source packages and fail to update/compile these properly; because they're Apple, important parts of their OS are closed, most notably the driver system. Windows on the other hand uses a lot of proprietary packages, but just about everything is also exposed through a relatively well documented API. Windows also supports just about any hardware you throw at it, as Linux and basically *every* other OS does, whereas OS X doesn't support anything and nowadays even has hardcoded checks built in. Quite funny, just open the Lion installer package, there's even *scripts* to check whether you're virtualising it (and if you are, obviously Apple go "HAHA FUCK YOU"). Easy to remove, but also shows how "innovative" they are.
I agree that there need to be guidelines for Android, but that has got absolutely jackshit to do with open or closed source. They can just as easily keep it as open as it is now and still enforce some guidelines.
At least I can create apps without having to buy a 600 EUR iPhone and a 1000 EUR Mac (oh sorry, forgot about the Mini at 600 EUR ) just to fucking test them (there's other ways to develop these days, but it's still shit without OS X). Aside from the 99 USD fee to get some documentation. Yeah, Apple-style closed source is definitely the way to go

Knew that would draw something out, use the word "drivers" when Apple is involved and you quickly see who has a clue and who hasn't

iNatan is a hypocrite at its finest. First he bashed Apple, then he got his iPhone and now he loves it, but still trying to bash Apple as a whole a little bit.
But if someone had to take the iPhone away from him, he'd cry like a baby. Just be a man and admit Apple makes good products, has a nice market, and a beautiful support.

And why? Because of the guidelines.
Android fucking fails.
I bet in 2-3 years Windows Phone series will even beat Android.
