There won't be any. Weren't they supposed to release the game in may? Wasn't it already pretty much finished when they pushed the release date to august? Didn't they say it's just polish and bugfixes from now on?

It's rare when I haven't even finished a game yet, and I'm already excited to replay it from the beginning.
With some other games I dread even reloading a checkpoint.

They have been in balancing, bugfixing and polishing mode since idk.. early 2011? A looong time.
And there will obviously be small differences due to the balancing/polishing/bugfixing

Wonder if they altered the pistol somewhat, with that special upgrade and a silencer (laser sight and extended magazine also helps.) it worked pretty much against everything minus mechanized threats.
(Cheap also and a ton of ammunition available.)

Well the sawn-off is neat but more of a novelty as the normal shotgun does pretty well (And you don't accidentally discharge two shots by just holding the fire button a bit too long, haha.), I liked the sniper rifle though (But it's not that different from the one you can find though it appears very late for the beta.) and the AUD's helped in some area, unsure if there were others, can't fully remember.
(10.000 credit bonus was helpful for testing stuff in the beta also.)

Actually you can find silenced and unsilenced ones pretty early
Spoiler: | unsilenced is on the roof of the gas station, access behind the great poster wall right of the limb clinic | About the difference the silenced one is capped at 5 "damage level" instead on the normal one you can fill the damage bar with upgrades; I presume a fully decked SR could kill even armored soldiers in one shot (for example the policemen with full helmet)

i still don't get what was wrong with conviction's stealth
you can ghost through most of the game with the exception of a few choke-points/scripted events

SCC: repeatedly press B on your gamepad to CQC every enemy you encounter.
That's how I played the game. Amazing game design

none of the criticisms are of stealth
-mark&execute was pretty darn derp, i give you that, and then seeing through walls was just bullshit.
-melee combat is a ridiculous hassle in most games where it is not the primary focus like in batman, and it was a mess in earlier SC games also..
and i'm supposed to be an elite agent here..
and you can't melee kill if the enemy sees you so i wouldn't call it unbalanced either.
but there was nothing wrong with stealth
apart from the few choke points where you had to kill or get discovered, you could ghost the game through; from memory:
-the end of tutorial (scripted event)
-end part of kobin's mansion (scripted event)
-entire iraq (this mission was bullshit)
-washington monument chase sequence (scripted event)
-end of whitebox (scripted event)
-the entry-fight and the end of third echelon hq (scripted events)
-saving the girl and the helicopter in the reservoir (which is not a live AI as it does not alert ground troops to your location, also scripted event)
-game finale at white house (scripted event)

Sure there are.
I'm not saying there isn't any sneaking, but the entire gameplay has been built around the mark&execute feature.
There's no sound meter in the game, and the light&shadow aspect of stealth is just awful.
Not to mention the fucking silhouette bullshit. The guards would shift their entire focus to your last known position as if fucking hypnotised, as if there isn't a slightest chance Fisher might have moved somewhere else.

Is this gonna be quite a long game ?. How long is it taking most people to complete this 'demo' ?.

It took me around 11hrs, I like to explore and really soak in the atmosphere. Journalists reckon the press demo is roughly 25% of the game.

That's awesome, I'm a bit of a completionist so hopefully I could get 40hrs out of this.
Did you play the first 2 Deus Ex games if so is this a good representation of the franchise ?.

Are you kidding? Deus Ex is quite possibly my favourite PC title ever xD DE2 was enjoyable, but not a patch on the original, whereas DX3 just oozes Deus Ex all over the place. It's a very, VERY good representation of the franchise -- even just from my demo play, I'm in love with it.

I played way more than 11 hours. I'd say my first playthrough was an easy 15. But I got everything there was to be gotten, I'll tell you that much.

That's good to hear, from what I gather this game is based in a time period before the first 2 titles so its possible Deus Ex 1 will be redone if turns out to be a success (imo).

So I guess that this is confirmed as the "final" augmented edition cover:
I liked the previous cover better:
What a shame...

Because the "N7" logo is not marketable at all to people not familiar with the game already?

so DEUS EX(tm) isn't but adam jensen is?
i mean the name of the game is written with big letters on the cover you know. and again this is the Collector/Augmented edition we are talking about, people who buy or preorder it know what the game is so why can't it be more stylish and minimal

Not Adam Jensen but "a cool looking guy with cyberpunk looks, badass expression, and fancy tech weaponry assembled into his body" or something like that. I think the derp conglomerate definitvely buys/pre-orders that.
