Yep, that's what you get when you put very pointy metal rod on a high place: a lightning attractor aka lightning rod Smile

The very idea behind a lightning rod IS to catch, and subsequently channel safely, bolts of lightning. Else the lightning bolt is liable to seek out another source of metal and could end up hurting people and damaging the building Razz Designers put lightning rods on tall buildings for SAFETY purposes Laughing

Physicist actually Very Happy In the early days (back when Franklin messed with lightnings using a kite) the lightning rods were very pointy at one end which meant that you would get a massive buildup of charge on that tip, which during thunderstorms literally attracted lightnings. Today they are making them slightly differently (not that pointy iirc), but the purpose remains the same: better to struck a metal rod than you Wink

Anywho I have exam in a week, which I'll probably pass Very Happy and then off to the real deal - next yr will be a killer Sad
