Unfortunatly I think this is a such off the radar release of a game that I don't think many release groups will prioritize this one.

Remember today the digital was released but from what I read in their forums the retail was actually released by gamestop or some other retail shop a few days ago so game should be available for release groups to get their hands on retail.

But I think it will be a while before this will see a scene release

Well...given that the most recent posted release on NFOHump is "The Princess and the Frog" by Disney Interactive I have high hopes that SOMEONE will crack Armada soon.

If not well then FOR SHAME sirs.

When you research a new weapon for example , does it show as such in the battle screens?. In Moo1/2 you'd see the new beam weapon being used.

Colonies , do you build buildings manually or is it automatic? are these affected by research aswell?

Theres no ship design, new technologies automatically gets applied to ships in later iterations. Corvette becomes Corvette II to III to IV. And yes you can tell the different weapons being used in battle.
You build stuff manually. You can't decide where to place it as in Galciv 2, you just decide that particular building be built on the colony.

No ship design? That's been pretty much standard since MoO1! Shocked

This isn't a MoO game though. This is an Armada game.
The first Armada game got released two years before MoO.

I meant standard in 4X games in general, be it the MoO series, Ascendancy, the Space Empires games, Sword of the Stars or GalCiv2 (those are the only ones I can think off the top of my head).

And this one shares little in common with Armada 2525 besides the name, so there's really no reason to omit ship design.

I guess I'll have to wait and eventually play it myself to see how that works in practice.

It's one of those games that you like or you don't, but if you already like 4x space games then you'll probably like this one as well.

Is this better than Lost Empires? Trying to decide which to buy, this or the King Arthur wargame. They should have a demo or something, to be honest. It sounds really good, but I'm seeing a fairly high amount of dislike on some of the forums.

Sigh Sad
Impulse release is still not in sight, also there is no demo to try it out... Sad
To make it worst no scene release just to try it before buying it (its a certain buy Razz), sigh at this moment i'd virtually hug anyone uploading this Razz

Yeah, I'm hoping someone uploads this too. I'd really appreciate a demo at least -- this is the kind of game that, for me, is either hit or miss. If it was $20 I'd probably just buy it to support the genre, but $40? I need more hands-on details first.

I wish it at least had PBEM or something. As it is, with hotseat only (at least for now), not much in the way of MP.
