I have two of their SSD's and a New PSU all still under warranty (intact the PSU is only a week old  )
lets hope they dont fail

Its the same in the UK, you just have to remind them on occasion as they always try and pass iit off to the manufacturer, and it can be a pain in the arse.

Only product from them I ever had a Vertex 3. Didn't have any issues, but I believe I lucked out.
OCZ had some great technologies just shit execution.

sucks for people who are losing jobs. not sure what else to say, never cared for OCZ products personally. their SSD business was nothing but trouble from day one, looks like they tried but never recovered from that.

Which is a shame because the Vector and the technology in it was outstanding.
But that's what they get for cheaping out with the NAND flash and pairing it with a buggy sandforce controller early on.

Well I still have a 30 GB Onyx which is doing fine, now just over 3 years old. Got that in my HTPC (it only has that drive) and it still boots and runs as fast as always. Not bad for what at the time was pretty much the cheapest drive and a low-end one at that.
Agility 3 is now 2.5 years old, that's still not showing any signs of degradation either.
Both my 60 GB Vertex 2's are now gone though. The second one gave up after just under 2 years I think it was - controller on it crapped out on me. RMA replacement is a 120 GB Vertex 4 which now sits in my MBP.
My first Vertex 2 gave up a few weeks ago, just a couple of weeks shy of 3 years old. Considering what I've put the damn thing through, I'm quite satisfied with that. It cost me €100 back in 2010 and it's been well worth its money. It has served as one of my system drives ever since then, has gone through a whole bunch of formats, a slew of OSs. Can't complain really.
I just hope its RMA replacement isn't going to be like the last 4 Samsung drives I've had; got a 120 GB Samsung Evo as replacement. I'm still bitter about the four fucking Spinpoint (F1, so fuck you  ) drives I had failing within 2 months of each other, all less than a year old (one was 2 fucking weeks old), followed by 2 more of friends and family failing.
Let's just hope Toshiba take all of their assets and keep the engineering teams intact, because Barefoot 3 has a lot of potential and we need more players on the market.

my DDR2 sticks were OCZ, one failed , mailed them to OCZ in the netherlands for replacement ( lifetime warranty ) and got 3 weeks later new set from California.

I think a combination of Toshiba NAND + Barefoot 3 will = win
Only thing I don't like is a company as massive as Toshiba just getting more. OCZ was worth supporting even through the tough times just because of how much smaller the company was. Also, their warranty service was always above and beyond other companies IMO.

I think their RAM was great. Owned a couple of sticks from them. OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 1GB to be exact. Those were the shit back in the day

Heh still got a few OCZ SSD's somewhere.. One cool feature is that they all have mini-USB connections. All of them still work.. bought them 2009, 850 SKR each, which i think was really cheap for that kind of performance (3 in RAID0).

Not after the 2 initial years, the 3rd is OCZ themselves.
For the V4 they even give out 5 years..

Lol, before this news erupted most people were awed by the performance and the issues with the V3 having issues with firmware was forgotten once it was fixed.
Now when they've bankrupted it's a huge hate flood.
I've never had any issues with the V2 90E and the V4 120GB. Never had issues with the OCZ RAM I had a few years ago either (although I use G.Skill now).
Pity, they did push the rest of the competitors into gear by pushing the performance envelope. Unfortunately they overstretched themselves by buying Indilinx (which probably created a big hole in their corporate bank account) and spread their focus over a large range of products while the competitors caught up and kept their focus on the important segments of the market.

Well a lot of the hate is deserved. They had the highest failure rate of any SSD manufacturer. The performance on the early models came at that cost.
Still, I think they were a pioneering company.

Yeah, OCZ had shit V3's 
So all 8 that i have bought for me and clients, not a single one failed.
And like i showed times and times over, i use my SSD excessively daily, prolly more than anyone one this forum, yet it's still alive and kicking (and yes, i'm still on rather old firmware for it)

And it's official, Toshiba are buying OCZ. All the technical and product divisions will stay, they're covering all of OCZ's immediate debts so for us consumers, nothing changes right now.
The price Toshiba have to pay? 35 million USD.
That is a fucking bargain.

Oh well. Honestly it will be impressive to see arguably the best controller on the market paired with top quality Toshiba NAND flash.
