I'm sitting here drinking a lot. (Vodka - SMIRNOFF, sorry if that's bad, I don't fucking know)
And I'm thinking about death.
In this thread, we share our beliefs about death. I'd love to hear what you all think about it. It's so strange to me how we're so conscious of life, and my brain just tells me that when we die it's just blankness and nothing and black and instant forever and ever.
But that's depressing as fuck. For some reason.. I don't know. I'm not a very religious person, all seems like ridiculous nonsense to me, but it would be pretty sweet if there was something, ANYTHING other than total nothing, when we died.
Share beliefs please.

Why depressing? It's not like you'll have a conscious mind to know there's nothing, you'll just cease to exist.

Your conciousness will be drifitng in pitch black silent nothingness for the rest of eternity.
Spoiler: | JK. I think it's game over when you die aswell. I find it pretty obvious and can't fathom how people truly believe in heaven or some other shit. But it's not for me to decide what others want to believe because they are too afraid of death |

So question now is how do you feel about necrophilia?

Consciously, do I mind someone raping my corpse when I'm dead? HELL YES I MIND! When you're dead you can't have opinion on the subject either way.
I guess the best way to put it is nobody will ever know what it feels like to be dead, not even in death.

I don't remember what was I (or was I?) before I was born, and I won't remember what was I when I die, so I don't sweat too much about it...

You'll be too dead to feel depressed or anything for that matter. It sounds good to me.

Does it matter if you can't feel or remember anything?
There just isn't any sense in pondering about stuff like that. It's pointless to ask yourself such questions and waste time on them.
Enjoy the life you have now, and live it to the fullest

Ive noticed as you get older you do tend to think of death quiet alot, alot then you do when you are younger and thinking like that is a form of depression if you ask me.
Ive just had the worst year in record for it, my dad had an heart attack and my mum was in and out of hospital for the last two years due to cigarets.
Shes given up now and has never been better.
What ive taken from that expieriance is make sure you tell your loved ones how much you love them because once its over and you dont say what you need to say, depression is not far round the corner.
Thats my opinion on it.
Dunno if thats answers a part of your question but its my thought on death.

Nothing wrong there, primitive individuals tend to imagine the things they don't understand.
I remember when I once passed out for a short period of time, I couldn't remember anything during that specific period and wasn't conscious of my current state. It was a unique experience once I got back up and thought about it, but I guess that's what happens when you die. You are just not there anymore.

And thus, religious fairy tales were born.

The first rule of life is: you don't talk about death! There's no surprise
Unless of course we all embrace the idea of reincarnation

Energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be transformed into various forms. |
Here, I fixed it for you
Plus, locally you can have violation of conservation of energy, within the Heisenberg uncertainty - pair production in vacuum for instance (why vacuum is not really empty, and has dielectric constant)

I think it's game over as well. It will be pretty terrifying, when you realize, that you are going to die soon. I think nothing is as scary as realizing that. Sure, when you're young, you have the comfort of knowing, that there will probably be a lot of time, until your time comes - but being old must suck.
I understand, that believers get great comfort from knowing they will go someplace after death, and sometimes I wish I could comfort myself with such beliefs, but I can not, for they seem like children's tales to me.

I hear ya mate , sometimes i wish that heaven and hell are true..........I'd prefer to stay in hell eternally getting ass raped by a demon than just becoming nothingness.
unless if that's what you prefer , right dingo |
Interestingly enough, I don't like being bottom. It hurts (this is kinda 'no shit sherlock' statement )
But, luckily for me, my friend likes to be bottom so it's a win - win xD \o/

Nature will recycle your puny flesh and you shall come back as a snail, then all you'll think about is how heavy this house is on your shoulders and how you should climb this tree for the next two weeks, hey it's better than nothing

The most frightning thing is how you die..everyone would just wish to go to sleep and that's it..never wake up. And on the other side you have slow painful deaths with various diseases and other crap..
