I'm sitting here drinking a lot. (Vodka - SMIRNOFF, sorry if that's bad, I don't fucking know)

And I'm thinking about death.

In this thread, we share our beliefs about death. I'd love to hear what you all think about it. It's so strange to me how we're so conscious of life, and my brain just tells me that when we die it's just blankness and nothing and black and instant forever and ever.

But that's depressing as fuck. For some reason.. I don't know. I'm not a very religious person, all seems like ridiculous nonsense to me, but it would be pretty sweet if there was something, ANYTHING other than total nothing, when we died.

Share beliefs please.

Why depressing? It's not like you'll have a conscious mind to know there's nothing, you'll just cease to exist.

So question now is how do you feel about necrophilia?

Consciously, do I mind someone raping my corpse when I'm dead? HELL YES I MIND! When you're dead you can't have opinion on the subject either way.

I guess the best way to put it is nobody will ever know what it feels like to be dead, not even in death.

I don't remember what was I (or was I?) before I was born, and I won't remember what was I when I die, so I don't sweat too much about it...

You'll be too dead to feel depressed or anything for that matter. It sounds good to me.

Does it matter if you can't feel or remember anything?

There just isn't any sense in pondering about stuff like that. It's pointless to ask yourself such questions and waste time on them.

Enjoy the life you have now, and live it to the fullest Smile

Ive noticed as you get older you do tend to think of death quiet alot, alot then you do when you are younger and thinking like that is a form of depression if you ask me.
Ive just had the worst year in record for it, my dad had an heart attack and my mum was in and out of hospital for the last two years due to cigarets.
Shes given up now and has never been better.
What ive taken from that expieriance is make sure you tell your loved ones how much you love them because once its over and you dont say what you need to say, depression is not far round the corner.
Thats my opinion on it.
Dunno if thats answers a part of your question but its my thought on death.

Nothing wrong there, primitive individuals tend to imagine the things they don't understand.

I remember when I once passed out for a short period of time, I couldn't remember anything during that specific period and wasn't conscious of my current state. It was a unique experience once I got back up and thought about it, but I guess that's what happens when you die. You are just not there anymore.

well man, like anyone i dont even know enough for myself so i guess what i say is in the end kinda selfish. not easy to relate any human experience without actually living it much less understand something that raises more questions than it answers. your thinking about death or the moment, so to say, after life as you will know then (which is a constant in your life) i say you were just unsatisfied with what you knew and knew of for a time. thats a good thing. no different from someone who's accomplished a lot in eyes of his peers but eventually hits a wall or the 'boundary' of what they know for that time in their life.

hopefully this is helping instead of making you drink more :/

Here, I fixed it for you Very Happy

Plus, locally you can have violation of conservation of energy, within the Heisenberg uncertainty - pair production in vacuum for instance (why vacuum is not really empty, and has dielectric constant) Very Happy

I think it's game over as well. It will be pretty terrifying, when you realize, that you are going to die soon. I think nothing is as scary as realizing that. Sure, when you're young, you have the comfort of knowing, that there will probably be a lot of time, until your time comes - but being old must suck.

I understand, that believers get great comfort from knowing they will go someplace after death, and sometimes I wish I could comfort myself with such beliefs, but I can not, for they seem like children's tales to me.

But, luckily for me, my friend likes to be bottom so it's a win - win xD \o/

The most frightning thing is how you die..everyone would just wish to go to sleep and that's it..never wake up. And on the other side you have slow painful deaths with various diseases and other crap..
