Here is a dutch site with a bunch of laptops from € 450 - 550

Even if you can't order from the linked websites you can at least get specs and model numbers for 80+ notebooks in your price range, and try and find them cheap in .ro.

The fujitsu-siemens looks better simply because it has a much better processor. On the downside it has on-board intel graphics while the asus you linked to has a dedicated ati card. But to be honest, both those video processors are pretty much in the same league of performance i.e. you won't be playing any top games with them.

Seems like Intel Mobile (GMA 4500 HD at least supports H264 hardware acceleration in Vista, as does the ATI 3450.

IMO you should at least make sure the onboard graphics card does that so you can watch HD rips Smile

Stop generalising, the new amd mobile cpu's use less power than the intel counterparts.

mainly, i can't say i really need it for gaming.it for my sister. it only need to run games like Sims 2 & Sims 3. i think this are the standards for this laptop i want.
and about that Fujitsu-Siemens .... i don't know ... it looks kinda OK.... though it costs ~600 euros. can't say i really like it because of it's integrated video. and i can't say GMA 4500 is really a video card... it's more like a video processing chip. or at least that is how i've saw intraged video cards Very Happy
though i must thank you for your opinion swingman

anyway, most likely tomorrow i will buy a laptop. not sure which one but i will surely buy one.

romania is in the eu so I guess you can just order it from germany or any other eu country without paying anything in addition except some shipping.

they accept visa/mastercard/amex and ofc bankwire. they ship to romania as well.

Dunno, but I have an older model of them and it's good. Still working and it's almost 3 years old. Just had to clean up the fan, which was pretty easy comparing it to HP Pavillions where you have to unmount the whole covering. The display is good too.

Mine was from compal, can't say if this one is too. Select notebooks from the left than gaming notebooks.

If she want to play sims 2 & sims 3 it should definitly have a good graphicschip! The intel solutions wont do the thing! And I can tell you, sims 2 is very demanding on hardware and sims 3 will need even more power!

You know what I think about the two but then I am not a gamer. The 3450 might have a small edge but then the two processors are not similar so that weighs heavily for me.

Why don't you go for the one PA posted. They do ship to ausland.

Guarantee would be a problem though.
