True Detective new HBO show coming 2014

courtesy of cirithungol

http://www.slashfilm.com/true-detective-teaser-harrelson-and-mcconaughey-slowly-track-a-killer/

Teaser only 30 seconds but what a duo to lead this show! Smile Could be super great.

Creator/Director: Cary Fukanaga
Starring: Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Dunn, Michelle Monaghan, Alexandra Daddario, Michael Potts(The Wire alumni!!)

An EW preview features quotes from Pizzolatto about the show and describes ”pessimist Rust Cohle (McConaughey) and emotional family man Martin Hart (Harrelson)” saying that the tale begins with a set of murders in 1995 and flows forward for many years. “It’s more about the detectives than it is about the killer,” Pizzolatto says. “We trace both the case and the relationship [between the cops] and how they change — or don’t change — as the years progress.”

McConaughey seems to be coming up with some very good roles lately, Killer Joe and (apparently, since I still haven't seen it) Mud, and woody is always entertaining so this could be interesting.

Doesn't look anything special, nor is the description, but who knows, HBO usually has good stuff.

Best stories are usually simple at the core.

Looks good. Hopefully it is relatively cheap to film, so they have more than the now-standard 10 episodes per season. 13 at least!

They can probably skimp on the dire wolf effects in this one!

GOT is like 60 million a season, which is pretty crazy

Watch it when you have some time Razz, I think it's the best movie that I've seen so far this year. McConaughey was surprisingly amazing and believable, seems like he finally realized that the old roles were getting hilariously ridiculous xD

(he's still shirtless in the movie but at least he has good reasons Cool Face)

This is looking like a serialized story. AKA not a procedural(a procedural is CSI type shows).

I think this is supposed to be a seasonal anthology series similar to American Horror Story on FX.
