In my case, when I click on a link it will attempt to override my current shopping cart, so for the second link I had to click yes to a non intrusive question above the load out to get the new one.
It shows 7 articles for both with € 2.120,88 for ryzen and € 2.866,45 for TR
Wouldn't ryzen 2/+ be closer to your current CPU for single threaded performance making the switch easier?

Get the 1950X build now, nothing can beat its monstrous performance in multitasking considering its price, its so good. You can always buy Zen 2 Threadripper to your X399 board when it arrives.
I can give you one tip tho, replace that memory, get Trident Z 3200mhz (samsung B-die), they work flawlessy in Quad Channel.
Absolutely love my TR setup, its fucking beast in video editing (Adobe Premiere CC 2018 supports all dem cores now) and gaming is not a problem at my resolution, everything runs flawlessy.
Ryzen also doesnt have any edge over TR in gaming, every single TR clocks as high as 1800X or better, since they are binned Ryzen chips.

Yes, TR has Quad Channel, you need 4 sticks.

I wouldn't buy right now anything with the ongoing Spectre/Meltdown thing lurking around.

I am in the same situation;
I'm stuck with a 2012-build (i5 3570k, 16GB 1600, Radeon 7950 OC...)
The difference is that I don't have the money to buy new stuff. :/

Not sure why you'd want something else for 4K gaming tbh.. doesnt seem to matter at all in the performance tests i've seen, an i7 performs equally, maybe with 1 FPS to its advantage.
Memory speed does seem to matter more in that case, i've seen as much as a 5 FPS difference (slowest compared to fastest DDR4).
The only time i would bother with something better is for professional use of photoshop or rendering and video software.
The i5 8600K is an awesome CPU for overclocking, and imo that's what to look for when going for a gaming CPU (and same with gfx card, one that has good cooling) IF you want best price/performance. My really old 2600k i7 @5GHz did well for many years and still holds up great.
