To be fair, the original isn't that good of a movie. It has some funny moments as that was what the director was best at - But generally it's a shit movie.

No, it's a work of fucking genius. Only Verhoeven could have taken a well-loved sci-fi novel and made a film that satirises its source material's central philosophy. Not to mention the the eerily prophetic parallels that can be drawn between the film and last 10 years of US foreign policy. Add to that the still unmatched CGI, Basil Poledouris' bombastic score and Neil Patrick Harris in a Nazi uniform.
Highly doubt they will be able to recreate the magic of it. I don't really care that much about a remake though, not like we will be missing this ground breaking director/screen-writers ability in other projects

Starship Troopers is just perfect in everything it wanted to achieve! The only thing that they could have possibly done any better, would have been 2 hours more of all of it
also i dont REALLY mind. i mean the first film WAS based on a book, and didnt follow it very closely anyway, so a remake thats more true to the source material would be a DIFFERENT movie, so that wouldnt bother me.
I heard Critics about the fact that the Troops are barely using Nuclear weapons or at least not using much of Air Force Bombing,which seems to be very effective.

WHAT!!!!!!!! Its a fucking classic! the FX is brilliant, all forms of the art on show and even CGI that actually blends in!
