Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, YELLOWJACKETS is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over. The series also stars Ella Purnell (Sweetbitter), Sammi Hanratty (SHAMELESS), Sophie Thatcher (Prospect), Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief), Steven Krueger (The Originals) and Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers).

Second season ended. It was good but the present plot got more black comedy vibe for better or worse. I enjoyed it.

How?! I hate this show on so many levels but keep watching it, are there no good tv shows left?
I keep reading people saying this is an original idea. Yet it is a worse copy of the Lost script with a close to an all female cast. The sub-plots are non-nonsensical, often the flashbacks don't have any relation whatsoever to the plane crash characters completely killing overall character development - it's almost like 2 half-baked stories just jammed together for the sake of it.
The casting is all over the place, some of the teenagers look 35 years old while others fit the part. I don't find any of the older female leads acting nor plot realistic or relatable in the slightest. I can't remember the name of any character and most are unlikable to boot. Every now and then one character see's imaginary ghost wolves that don't relate to anything..
Oh and its SeT iN thE 90's!! member NiRVana!!! member Montell Jordan!! - Yeah I member !
Maybe all be revealed after 15 eps, or if inspired by Lost it will be spooky mystery after spooky mystery forever.
I think we watched different shows because the Yellowjackets I watched was about
Spoiler:
Girls who were in plane crash and resorted to cannibalism to survive, make some cult due to lost of sanity and they don't want the fact they ate people to come out.
There is some misticism but no Lost level of bullshit just - at least in the first two seasons - regular level of human bullshit depending on person to person. There is a girl who thought she sees future but it balances on the fact that she is on spectrum and had to take medicine. The black woman also is clearly not sane and has split personality disorder.

I watched some of it because so many kept praising it. This is successful because it's a woman's show. I can see why girls would love it.
Not for men, men.
I thought that initially and sure. It's starting to come together and get more watchable at episode 10. The first 5 episodes were rough and the dialog / plot is still ridiculous.
Casual couple conversation in this show:
h "what do you mean you killed someone?"
w "yeah I stabbed the him and now he's dead"
h "oh... who?"
w "just some guy I thought was blackmailing us"
h "what the guy you rear ended with your car? weird.."
