So here's the situation.

Currently I have the router set up in my room connected to the PC. I'd like to be able to watch cable TV in the living room without having to connect it to the router via cable because reasons.

So I've been told a powerline adapter is a viable possibilty. Just plug into a wall socket and connect to the router with its counterpart plugged into a wall socket and the TV.

Now, in my room I have a wall socket available. The living room has one free about 2.5m away and for reasons I'd rather not have to plug it in there.

So my question is, can I plug the second adapter into an extension cord and have the same result?

nope

first: powerline sucks!
second: never ever plug them into a multi adapter! might work, but might produce strange failures

what setup are you using? some router that streams the dvb-c signal into your local wifi? or you want to send the cable signal through the powernet?

Crap. Thanks for the quick answer.

I wouldn't be using them if I had a choice. All they need to do is provide a stable 4Mbit connection to the TV and I'll be a happy camper.

Guess I'll go with the cable

only possibility i can think of is a router that streams the dvb-c signal into the net -> use a streaming stick/pi whatever with kodi/openelec @ the tv and snap the signal. works fine, think avm has some of that thingys. but afaik only sd channels and ofc no encrypted pay tv signal

other option is a smart tv with a zattoo, magine or similar (which is available in your country) app and a subscription to that service (think zattoo supports xboner if you have a console)
