Microsoft confirms that it is working on a new Gears of War game
| Quote: | After the release of Gears of War 4, Microsoft remained silent about the status of this particular franchise. However, in an interview with The Verge, Microsoft’s games chief, Phil Spencer, revealed that there will be a new Gears of War game in the future.
As Phil Spencer told The Verge when asked about the Xbox Game Pass subscription:
“We will follow through with State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, and the rest of our portfolio. Not just those games, but our future Halos, our future Gears of War, future Forzas, and other games. Our plan is to launch those to our Game Pass subscribers at the same time they go to retail.”
This is perhaps the first time Microsoft has publicly admitted that there will be a new Gears of War game. Whether this brand new game will be a spin-off or a sequel to Gears of War 4 remains to be seen. Moreover, and given Microsoft’s commitment to the Xbox Play Anywhere program, we can safely say that this new Gears of War game will be simultaneously released on Xbox One and Windows 10. |

I just finished another game from my backlog - Inversion (2012)
It's a pretty blatant Gears clone. Not that great overall, but if you're jonesing for that type of gameplay might be worth a shot

Agreed, Binary Domain is still pretty much the only "Gears-like" game (including Gears itself) that I've found enjoyable.  The core gameplay mechanics did feel stale (a requirement of the genre  ) but the characters/story, banter, well-measured pacing and the huge crazy bosses made the game interesting to play. |

Last one was fun, looked great and ran well. at least in co-op
Though it helped that I got it for free.
