This thread is so boring. PS3 has some great exclusives and that's all needed for me to want to buy this console.

I just remember reading the chart of stats, like the 3dmax score for consoles.. the PS3 CPU is indeed more powerful.
And as for games, God Of War 3, Last Guardian, Forza 3, Heavy Rain, etc

both systems are good in there own right, and i own them both but if i had to have just one then its the 360 everytime, for me it the more complete package and just seems a more enjoyable experience beit live or a better line of exclusive games this year and next.
As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

this thread is a load of bullshit, code is always being optimized to get more out of set hardware. Both PS3 and 360 will continue to push the envelope on what is possible

Well, as far as I know the 360 GPU is more powerful than the PS3's, but the Cell is more powerful than the triple core CPU that the 360 uses.
It pretty much even's the two out. I think the PS3 had less than a 1% advantage overall, but the 360 being so much easier to code for means it's easier to get more out of it.

Many devs have said the HW is comparable, some games will look slightly better on the Xbox some slightly better on the PS3. Not because one is better than the other, the game is just more optmized for the Xbox or the PS3. It's a useless debate, both consoles are equally old and I assume both companies have used the best HW possible for that time. If teh Xbox is at the end of its days HW wise, teh PS3 should be also.

id have to agree im playing my consoles in the comfort of my living room sat on a leather couch having to stare hard at the 50inch sony HD picture while struggling to hear the 5.1 being deliveried by the yamaha A1 through the mission's in 5.1 , thanks for pointing out how horrible that actually is. both consoles or parrable to a pc from 4-5 yrs ago.

What? The PS2 was heavily underpowered (4 MB VRAM, no shaders) while the X360 is an efficient performance beast that the PS3 can't overtake although it is a whole year newer.

Hm, yeah, about that..
If i'd bought a PC for $400 (X360 Premium launch price) back in 2005, do you honestly think it would've handled todays X360 (or PS3) games, graphics wise?
Of course it wouldn't.

With that ridiculous comparison, you forget one thing: PC is much more than a machine for playing games. If you take a cheap PC's price plus a console's price, you get to the price of a better PC than a console.
BTW, how did this turn into PC vs Console all over again?

Both concoles are equally old. The PS3 was delayed because there were problems with the Bluray laser manufacturing.

Consoles will always be stuck at whatever point they are created while PC's move beyond them unless new hardware is no longer developed for PC.
I think people said this would happen with THIS generation... actually... it has been said every time a new gen comes out.

console [360]: dLd, burn, play
pc: dLd, mount, try to install [lately devs manage to fuk up the installers ] , struggle to find good setting even tho u have modern pc, change drivers, dance by the fire then play and hope it won't crash/slash/smash
so the verdict is if u want to relax and play the damn games console is your choice
if u want to have occasional pain in the ass spend certain amount each year pc is all yours
