As for the thumbsticks. I'm glad their forcing them. Button mashers on FN3 made online play rubbish. Its not difficult to use them and imo, it actually flows a whole heap better.
Moving body shots (all except jabs) to the thumbstick works very well as well.
I'm trying to work out what difficulty the demo is on. I'm hoping its only on Normal as my main critizim of FN3 was it was bloody easy even on hard. If the demo is on hard, i'd be disappointed as once you get the hang of it, its impossible to lose. |
No way its on hard, far too easy.

I got the same thoughts @ thumbsticks.
This aint no button bashing, would be way too easy.
Though u can still pre ur moves with combos, works pretty well.
Demos dont run on hard difficulty?

the whole point of the game is the punching control with the sticks.
it's like buying a wii and complaining about that control system.

Besides, it's not as if boxing is a 100% accurate sport, the best way to emulate it is with an analogue control system.

Can't see why everyone are worried about buttons bashers if they map the controls later .
If this Stick is as you say 100% accurate and you have an ounce of skill then button mashers would have no chance . Its the same scenario with street fighter and especially with ufc

Why can't they just put buttons for single player and no buttons for multiplayer? I dont mind them not putting them in but for someone whos going to buy the game like me I would want some kind of choice.

I never had a problem boxing against button mashers.
It just doesn't matter to me simply because I never used the buttons anyway.
I don't see the harm and giving the people the option really. In single player at least.

I like that they don't give the option. pick a fucking system and stick with it. the controls are the most important aspect of the game.

Completely agree. For me, the stick works very well in FN4 (much better than FN3 purely as body shots flow better now on the stick with no button modifier). Linking combo's together is great.
You've gotta remember that fight night is trying to simulate boxing as much as it can. Using the sticks allows combo's to link like they would irl (ok, to an extent but without actually throwing the punch yourself, they are limited). Spamming constant right uppercuts isn't boxing, spamming any punch isn't boxing. This is kinda what seemed to happen in FN3.
Plus, the removal of the parry is a great move as parries aren't exactly common in boxing as they leave you wide open. They feature a lot more in kickboxing but this isn't that sport therefore I'm glad they got removed.
My personal opinion, and its not a knock against anyone, is that if the buttons are needed, then your either playing the game in the wrong way or playing the wrong kind of game

saw this on IGN...
Photo Game Face
Not exactly unexpected but I do like the fact you can use any music on your HDD as a ring entrance. Personally I'm going for the opening track to Adam F - Kaos album.
Also, this give a load more detail on legacy mode which I didn't know too much about this time around.

I've just been watching this training video on IGN.
There are far more stats involved now regarding the progression of your fighter.
Stats:
| Quote: |
Left Hand Power
Right Hand Power
Hand Speed
Punch Accuracy
Foot Speed
Head Movement
Block Strength
Head Toughness
Body Toughness
Stamina
Heart
Chin
|
And there are 6 mini training games (well, 6 from that menu, no idea if there are any hidden/special ones)
| Quote: |
Open Sparring
Stay on your feet
heavy bag combo's
Heavy bag push
Double end bag
Maze Bag

Eh that's weird SiN! Try clearing your cache and reinstall it.
•Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.
•Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.
•Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.
