What the shit is the problem with this failgame, how can I select my gamepad. It only allows me to have keyb+mouse ?

Man, this game is fuckin awesome.
I'd give the graphics a 7/10. Could be better (got everything on max, 1920x1080 res as well) but they still are cool enough on max.
Plays very smooth, no problems at all. Interesting story. Great game.
Wouldn't buy it for the 360 tho.
Like its been said in this thread, if they tailored the PC version for the PC instead of just porting the 360, it would have been better (graphically).
Still, awesome game 
Great replay value as well.

I think you need specific gamepads (only a handful are supported). Its in the readme or something I think.
I'm using a Wired 360 (I have a 360, might as well use it for the comp as well instead of buying a separate one) and everything works fine.
Still, the option to switch from keyboard+mouse is in the options menu if I recall correctly. |

The readme just says that the game was tested with a handful of Logitech and the 360 wired controller, lol (like I give a fuck what they tested it with)
DirectInput motherfuckers ... oh well, maybe a patch will come out, not like I bought it. I can only imagine the ultra-rage IF I had bought it. Piracy ftw.

So far my impressions after 2 days of playing:
First of all the graphics - they are nothing spectacular in any case, not much of detailed hi-rez textures, but it's not bad - at all. There are no texture popping up from nowhere, there is rather large field of view - from high above i can see all the traffic in the area.. The amount of vehicles and pedestrians on screen is huge  And all that without any performance hit. Also some of the character models are nice.
Gameplay wise... well:
The free roam is a nice thing - the city seems pretty much alive (tho with retarded citizens )
Unfortunately i don't feel motivated enough to explore... There are no hidden events, items or collectibles (aside the boring blue and lol-able purple orbs (hints.. really now....how helpful). I like having multiplatform games on PC because of the nice additional modes & unlocks & collectibles - but here... meh...
The main story... i don't like it, it seems quite messy...and it's hard to follow - it's cut down to tons of blurry moving images - each of them no longer than a minute...Also there is little to none characters dialogs and interactions..
The side missions could've been more varied - but at least there is something to do
The gameplay itself... I pretty much feel like playing with Venom The character powers are interesting and... powerful.. Flying around and jumping from building to building feels good.The upgrade system is nice as well.
The combat... i have mixed feelings about it.. the character is almost godlike - one hitting everything - so it's hard to make combos or enjoy the battle - it's almost like crop harvesting simulator It's rather unchallenging..(beautiful and great wolverine... That game was easy as well, but the battles were so great..) Instead of saying to myself "oh noes - an armored column is heading towards me i think - aww, a free ride to hitch <3 " Even the dangerous choppers are not a treat now- i can airjack them (maybe it's more challenging later? )
Tho being so overpowered has it's strong sides.. doing the things just for the fun of it.. The game is gory
Some serious problems for me are the : targeting and selecting one enemy from the rest of them, and the controls when the char runs - especially on buildings - it takes forever to stop or turn - so it's beyond frustration to miss a turn or fail to stop.. and fall back to the ground.. (i hate the kill enemies and waypoint run events because of these things)
Another thing.. the AI.. is atrocious .. in the beginning i did not wanted to kill any civilians so i really tried... really.. but after 50 of them threw themselves in front of my APC.. well... things changed 
- Also why no NPC you interact cares how you just killed half the city ? I want a morale system  - to be somehow implemented into the story (or later on it happens ? )
The AI does not care if you drop from high to them, or jump around/on buildings if you are disguised.. Stealth killing entire bases is a sad thing.. The elite commandos seems not to care about the missing guards (killed 2 inches behind them)
Well despite the negatives things.. the game is enjoyable and fun. It could be so much better, but it's ok - great port and lots of hack and slashing and gliding around the city

Here is a suggestion:
"FIX FOR THE 20 FPS PROBLEM!!
A user called Melonhead from the official prototype forum found the fix. You have to go to your device manager and disable a couple HID devices (human interface devices). He had about 20 in the list, I had 8. I did not disable all of them, but just a bunch. Yeeej Melonhead Getting 30-60 fps ingame now at 1680x1050, all high, 4x aa. Main menu is 60fps too, which was 20-25 first.
Edit: I disabled everything until only my keyboard and mouse, and mouse speed adjustment button still worked. If you disable your mouse accidentally, enable it in the top menu of device manager, ALT-F goes to File, then tab right for Action and hit Enable."

Had the same problem with MY PS2 pad. Use the 360 pad emulator, it works perfectly.

HID Devices are not useless drivers that Microsoft decided to put a few in Window just for fun, they actually have their utilities. I don't think it's a good idea from Activision to tell everyone to disable a few random ones, especially when you know nobody will remember about re-enabling them afterward.
Anyway, game run very fast here, no sound problem, no input problem (wireless 360 gamepad is perfect). Graphics are good, gameplay is good.
