With some arguments as to why such a low score, please. -.-

I can also pull random numbers out of my bumhole.....you get 1/10 for your review.

Opinions are so divided on this game the best advice is to download it and try it for yourself.

But you could maybe save yourself some time by answering this question; did you enjoy Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, Spiderman: WOS or Mercenaries 2?

If your answer is yes to two of those or more then I expect you would enjoy this too.

Good game of its 'genre'.

One odd thing about game balance I've noticed so far tho: The amount of EPs you get from the side-challenges don't really seem to be on the level with the orbs or w/e that you can collect around the city. I've gotten like 26 so far and they rake in MUCH more points than even if I beat the challenges at gold level, which can be pretty damn hard depending on the challenge type.

I guess as you play you unlock more challenges with more worthwhile EP rewards?

These are my quick thoughts.

Gameplay: 6.0
It feels like playing a game that has all of the right ingredients, but needed more time in the oven. The gameplay does get repetitive, with much of the game using a variation of only a few core mission types. Following the story is enough to at least keep the game interesting for one play through.

The AI is laughable. Clearing an entire base with stealth consume, while soldiers stand no more than a foot from each other, is sad. The same goes when consuming a civilian in the middle of a crowd and no one notices. They have no problem noticing you when jumping from a tall building though. The AI is obviously working on very limited scripting routines.

Graphics: 6.5
Outside of the terrific opening cinematic, the graphics are rather bland all around. The repetitive NPC skin usage screams lazy too. So much so that you may see 5 of the same character skin walking next to each other at any given time.

You have a lot of city to run around, but much of it ends up looking the same. The fun that should be had running through the city causing havoc, gets a bit lost when it all looks the same, especially when that city is at a lower detail level.

Sound: 7.0
Neither bad, nor good. It does what it needs to do.

Controls: 7.5
In my opinion, this game demands a gamepad. If you are fortunate enough to have one that the game supports, controlling Mercer is easy and should only take a couple of minutes to get familiar with the controls. Unfortunately, the buttons cannot be re-mapped by traditional means.

Overall: 6.8
A game that was headed in the right direction, but just didn't get there as intended. It desperately needs more polish.

Using Mercer is fun, but the playground he has to play in lacks any depth.

Worthy of a go, but won't leave a lasting impression.

Be sure and make it a point to play all of the consume events and to consume the targeted NPCs around the city. This is how much of the story elements get discovered for the Web Of Intrigue.

Thanks for the mini-review, I think I'll wait til someone with faster broadband can get this for me since all I have access to now is crappy p2p sheit and the speeds are sub-par. Sad

@AnimalMother
I haven't played hulk but the two others I have, I even own mercs2 but find both games just medicore. So I'll probably have the same opinion here, even tho I just loved zipping around with spidey. ^_^

Can't believe this game gets 90's out of 100's almost everywhere.Assuming that graphics are at 5/10 or 6/10 at best and gameplay 7.5/10 or 8/10 at best, this is not even near to 9.Ok, let's give it 8/10 or 8.5/10 for fun factor.wtf.Again not even near.
Minacious review is spot on i think.
With current pc technology ingame graphics should be just as the opening cinematic quality.

Years of console ports have clouded your judgement. Modern PCs are absolutely powerful. I'm sick of hearing the same argument for simulation games, but action games, too ?

EDIT: Pacman also had a lot of dots onscreen. Har har, I'm funneh !

EDIT 2: I shit my pants with the Arma 2 vid !!!!

If you don't like the game, great. Get out of the thread and let people discuss the game.. not vomit up insults at people who play a video game that is 'beneath you'. Thanks.

Yes, yes, you're a condescending prick who has to make fun of people who enjoy games that you don't. We get it.

And looking at your avatar, you like Resistance, so, I don't trust your taste, anyways...

Hahahahaha, the negative 'reviews' in this thread are awesome, i guessed based on first intro level. The game is absolutely awesome, it is all i hoped it would be and more. If i have to name a flaw it would be the already mentioned stealth, but wtf you expect, splinter cell?

I cannot believe that ppl that saw the fuking trailers and were hyped for the game are now dissapointed, w t f...lol, its all there, its all the same and the feeling of ultimate badass, and the most powerfull character in a video game, as it was advertised, is there. Thats it.

Just play it for more than 5 minutes ppl, for fucks sake.

It isn't bad, it isn't great.

It's fun though. The story is kind of dull, but still interesting enough.

There's a lot of combos and abilities.

It's decent. It isn't Half Life 2, but it sure isn't shit like some of you seem to be saying. @.@

Yeah, as IGN said there's nothing really memorable about this game. There are a few difficulty spikes here and there (first hunter encounter for example) but it's fun and you can do side missions in between main missions, as well as challenges (none are particularly hard to get gold). Armor + Blade looks sick. Movement around the city can get tedious (jump, hold shift space, press shift when you start succumbing to gravity, hold shift space, press shift, hold shift space, fall to ground and start all over again).

No issues with graphics or sound whatsoever, everything runs great, no frame rate drops either. It's well polished - I haven't encountered a single glitch so far.

Sure, it's not memorable or epic, but it's great fun. I love games to mean something and have great stories and characters. But I can't deny myself a little destruction Twisted Evil

7/10 - Just a fun game.

A controller makes it fun using the 3 same buttons to just run/jump/glide? Since when?
