it's available to everybody, you have to turn on X-DEVNET in your profile, then wait couple of hours for activation (for some people it happens immediatly, some have to wait even 1 day)
then you will see list of additional forums at the bottom of forum list, including [L3+] X3TC Public Beta Testing where you will find latest release candidate for 2.1 patch
now it's RC 3, so i think it's stable
there are 2 versions, DVD and online activation. i've tried DVD. and it doesn't work.
new patch has more nice features than 2.0 in my opinion (you can for example run your game in a window , and it will not pause and so on )

There is no 2.1 patch yet for X3TC2.0. It is coming shortly but they say it will be the last game in this series so I will be interested to see what they come up with to make it interesting. I have always wanted the combat a bit faster and less building and managing resources. But gfx in the series is very good.

I want to know which patches to download, so that I've got everything I need when I decide to install this.
EDIT: Oh, maybe just the 1.0.1 -> 2.1 patch ? Right ?

Yes, "This version is for any previous version of X3: Terran Conflict."
But they updated the copy protection with the 2.1 patch.

ive found a workaround (evn tho i own the game, i dont like my dvd in the drive)
a) run data\X3TC.exe from the (emulated) DVD (i used the PROCYON) in DT lite
b) The game should eventually run, but it is only v.1.01
c) quit to desktop
d) now run X3TC.exe from the hard-drive. it now should (or did for me) load fine, without a protection nag, at version 2.1
hope this works for you guys
PS I was using YASU 1.6.9040 to, dunno if that helped

How to sell my ship?
I'm flying a buster and i tried to sell it at the argon shipyard.
When i'm trying to sell i get the message "products are not bought" so i guess i should sell it somewhere else but i have no idea where.

Shipyard is correct, there is a separate option to sell your ship IIRC.

When i want to sell something else in a station i open trade window and i select the item and press left arrow to sell it.
But that doesn't work when i try to sell my ship.

Make sure you're not in the ship you want to sell? Otherwise, where would you be? Suits can't dock AFAIK. Get a new ship, hop into it and then you can sell the old one.

The manual says if you want to sell your ship and it's the only ship you have it will be highlighted and you can sell it.
But i can't figure out how to so you're probably right.
And you're right about suits not being able to dock, i tried.

I found a way to make the 2.1 patch work. My setup:
- daemon tools lite 4.30.4.27
- YASU 1.6.9040
- X3_Terran_Conflict_RUS_(reduced_MINI_image_xKVtor)
- Windows XP SP2
Do like this:
1. Open an explorer window on my computer so that you can click on the emulated drive.
2. Run X3TC.exe
3. Right after that, keep clicking on the emulated drive on the explorer, trying to open it. You will get error messages. Click ok and keep doing that until the game launches.
Worked for me many times now.
