They are not bugs, as the performance once you start playing is 100%. Then it gradually gets worse.

Well, here's an analogy:
if BF2 is World of Warcraft,
ARMA 2 is Eve Online.

as in ARMA 2 is much more complexe than BF2

Depends on your taste, no?
Some people prefer the former, some the latter.
WoW has what? 9 million subscribers?, EVE around 300-350,000?
So if you're one to think "popular is better", then BF2 is better.

Not many issues with the game here from what I've noticed, that said I've read several reports about various bugs and glitches (Official forums.) so there's certainly more to be done via patches, game was pushed out a bit early but the UK (EU English that is) version should have most of this solved, perhaps inbuilt or via a day-0 patch.
(Depends on when it's sent to disc processing and what the devs do under those two-three weeks.)
Extra features and functionality have also been requested such as turning off the HDR/Bloom system (Not really possible as explained for ArmA 1) and stuff like depth of field and motion blur (Might be doable) actual AA is also being considered although some shadows or rather their edges might look a bit odd according to a post by a developer.
Optimizations could probably be done as well but it runs pretty well considering how it looks and how large of a area the engine renders and also constantly streams data from.

Yes, it's excellent craftmanship behind this. But it will never appeal to the majority.

Why not, OP was very popular and it was hardcore, someone shot you and you didn't even know who it was.

I don't have any sales figures, but I doubt OPF has a chance on eg. BF2 in spite of being older and having more expansions.
Not to mention WoW.
edit: But whatever man, I'm just hoping for a proper crack until I get my pre-order in two weeks.

Haha... I don't disagree with you about any of the FADE info, since I know almost nothing about it... but this particular statement, we call that a memory leak.

I'll take a stab at helping you out. Currently, there is a crack for the 1.01 version (found at various places) The mini image may or may not work for you, did not for me. So, my suggestion is to install main game, install patch 1.01 and then use the 1.01 cracked exe. Wether or not you get fade messages as some others have, who knows. For me, I don't get any fade messages using the update and cracked exe. Doesn't mean you or I won't, just haven't yet. Hope that helped

The AI problem got fixed with 1.01 patch ! Didn´t see that problem anymore after the patch!
For those having the FADE problem :
One of the things that can be triggering the Fade thing is the english files !
If you are just overwriting the files it could trigger the FADE !
The solution is to create a Mod folder and change the arma2.exe shotcut to use this folder with the english files! And you can keep the original language files on their place!
So for this : create a folder in Arma 2 root, like English ! Inside it create a subfolder Dta and put all the files from the Dta folder that it is on root ! Then just copy the 3 files from the language pack to this folder!
After add in the end of the shortcut : -mod=English !
Like i´ve been using since i started playing i cant be sure if it really helps but i still haven´t faced any FADE problem ( Using mini-image with Yasu + patch 1.01) !
