yeah looked at some vids it looks as basic and wooden as it did before hand.. So whats the deal with this xtreme lark? total remake supposed to be? or just a release of the same engine/game play etc but with diff maps and missions.
The world's most deadly fighting force is back in all-new single-player,
co-op and multiplayer combat in Delta Force: Xtreme 2 (DFX2), from action
game developer and publisher NovaLogic. Supported by the NovaWorld Community,
a multiplayer network that provides smoother, faster and seamless gameplay
for up to 150 players per game, DFX2 offers intense military action for
PC FPS fans.
Featuring over 40 content-rich multiplayer maps, DFX2 supports five of the
most popular game types: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Team King of the Hill,
Capture the Flag, and Flagball. Each detailed map will have something to
entice all FPS fans, from large, vehicle heavy battlefields to small,
concentrated engagement zones. The NovaWorld Community allows every element
of the DFX2 gameplay, from the enhanced ballistics to the innovative
in-vehicle spawn system, to be carefully coordinated to support a
fully-balanced experience where teamwork is deadlier than individual
firepower, and in DFX2, intelligence and creativity is rewarded as much
as fast-twitch reflexes.
1. Burn/Mount image
2. Copy crack to the installed gamedir.
3. Be sure to have a firewall prevent the main
game from going online.
4. Support the software developers. If you like this game, BUY IT!
Stupid Novalogic. They should do a new Joint Operations and actually support it instead. That's one underappreciated game! If you discount the rampant cheating that killed it, and some of the more stupid imbalances (jeep nade spam for example) I had a LOT more fun with that than BF2.
I played JO ( joint operations) for some time online, was a good game. Good maps, bit stiff and the gfx was no Crysis of its time, but it had huge maps and the game play was fun.
This looks kinda the same as JO... like time froze? hmm
Lol, ok, this is LOW-budget. My first impression is that ppl that liked the old games may like this as well. I have fond memories of Delta Force 2 There's something about sniping cannon fodder enemies with piss-easy scopes in this game.
Well, in the mission I played my team mates just ramboed the enemy base and I just started killing hordes of enemies as well, until I got myself killed while swimming
I had the option to rejoin the fight !!! Also, the game accumulates XP points !
Anyway, I want to check it out more and then play LAN with a friend or something.
I had no idea Novalogic were working on this game (I use the term 'working' very loosely, of course) - last I heard they were making Delta Force: Angel Falls which, like this, looks far from cutting edge graphically, but it at least seemed worth diehard fans keeping an eye on. Now that they've dumped another DFX turd in our laps and shown they're up to their lazy old tricks, I'm not so sure.
Well, if this was 5 years ago it would be good enough. Doesnt matter if its supposed to be "retro", they still try to squeeze money out of a franchise instead of making something more "up to date". Lazy fuggers...
DF2 was an amazing game, but none since have had anywhere near the same effect.
I was quite enjoying this one but there's some amazingly bad design issues letting it down. Just had 1 mission for example where you're trapped in a building by 2 APC's.
Each APC takes 2 rockets to destroy.
Your load out of rockets is 1 rocket.
Because of spawning in the building with new ammo and no penalties it's easiest just to fire a rocket, die, fire a rocket, die, etc
They keep rehashing Joint Operations. Start developing a new engine ffs.
Wasn't the orginal engine from Comanche 4?.. i rememeber BHD definatly used the flight sim engine, not sure if they re-wrote or had a new one for JO though, Stopped playing BHD when all the cheaters started, still had a nice run of a coyple of years before they hit it hard, and JO was just soooooooooooooo laggy at times iirc.
Used to love Novalogic's stuff, but after 2 re-hashes of older games, i for one will deffinatly not buy another of their games.
I think there are no more selectable options. Just select your native resolution and maximum detail
ah ok thanks.
i loved XTREME 1, one of my favorite games of all time.
XTREME 2 is as good gameplay wise but it must be said the graphics are slightly worse even at maximum detail but it's not a big deal as the game is a lot of fun.
one mission is slow as hell though (the SNOW one)....10fps even with Maximum Performance on, i had this even in the previous titles. when there's snow blowing around the map it's lag time.
my vga card is a Nvidia 295 and an i7 920 cpu by intel, one of the fastest vga cards on the planet and 10fps? hahahaha
anyway, you guys can enable AA in in the Nvidia/ATI panel, improves things but slows it down a bit.
